Don't Expect To See That Second GHOST RIDER Again On AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D.

In what's sure to be disappointing news, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. producer Jeff Bell has confirmed there are no more plans for that mysterious second Ghost Rider who gifted Robbie Reyes with his powers.

Before they were beheading Life Model Decoys, Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. were busy having a run-in with the vengeful Ghost Rider, Robbie Reyes (Gabriel Luna). Earlier in the season, we got to see the show's take on Robbie's origin story and how he became united with the Spirit of Vengeance. Fans were elated when it was revealed that a second Ghost Rider (implied but never confirmed to be Johnny Blaze) passed the spirit into Robbie, saving his life.

Many people hoped that this small cameo was hinting at things to come; in the comics, Blaze was a mentor to Robbie, helping him understand what he had become. With Blaze seemingly appearing on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., some hoped we'd be seeing a team-up between the two Ghost Riders in a future episode, or a spin-off show focusing solely on them. Sadly, producer Jeff Bell has cleared the air on the subject which douses the chance of audiences ever seeing the two Riders unite.

According to Bell, not only does Agents have no further plans for the mysterious second Rider, but he also confirmed that there is only ONE Spirit of Vengeance, passed from person to person. "There is a tradition within the comics that there's been many Ghost Riders and our take on that was they're not simultaneously a tribe of Ghost Riders, but that it's passed," said Bell to IGN in a set visit. "The Spirit of Vengeance is passed from person to person. In that respect, at least our intention was that the Spirit of Vengeance was passed from one person to another, and who passed that on, there are suggestions within the storytelling ... That's as far as we're going to take that part."

So, if that was Johnny Blaze (it had to be, right?), he's currently wandering powerless somewhere after passing the spirit to Robbie. While this may be disappointing, audiences can at least take solace in the fact that we'll most likely be seeing Robbie again before the season is through. Let us know what you think below!
