Awesome, just like the comics.

My guess is that she is the shifting leadership connection to the Winter Soldier movie.

Probably both. And she's probably wearing heels also.

The show has been getting better for me with each episode. The last one finally brought some emotion, I finally care about Fitzsimmons.

I'm loving this show, it's getting better with each episode. Last night's ep was great. Let the haters hate, truth is the show was already picked up for a full season and is till one of Abc's highest rated shows.

@SKOne

Awesome prediction. Would be cool if she's the first character to cross over from the small screen into the films.

I'm also wondering if she'll end up being what Maria Hill was to TOny Stark, since I'm suspecting (in that nerd-wishful thinking way) that he'll take over as Director of SHIELD at the very end of WS. He retired as Iron Man, but he saved the President...wouldn't be a stretch for them to award him that position.

@ruadh

They wouldn't make someone who doesn't even work for SHIELD(and who disrespects and hacks shield) director of SHIELD. It's more likely Maria Hill would take over as she has many times in the comics.

"Does anyone genuinely like this show?"

I kinda enjoyed it in the beginning, thinking it was a little goofy and kinda fun, but last night was a real game changer for me. The characters got way more fleshed out, and for me at least, I mean all five of them, even May. It's actually gelling relatively well, and after only 6 episodes it's a bit of a feat.

For me, the characters ARE the show. And getting me more interested in them last night was a huge step towards really enjoying the show as a whole.

@ctsketch

I see your point, but he's also someone with a long history with the military and government. And in the comics, there was a period where he actually did become Director of SHIELD. He was then replaced by Norman Osborn (the person Hand actually acted as second to), whom I feel has even less place leading a spy organization.

@jlabatman

I don't know anything about her outside of the Dark Reign plot. WHen Norman Osborn (a reformed Green Goblin) took over as Director of SHIELD, Hand was his second in command, acting like his Maria Hill. She is probably the one person who stayed connected to the Dark Avengers the entire time who wasn't REALLY guilty of anything bad. She did a lot of "following orders", but I don't think she really hurt anyone or broke laws, etc. She also worked to keep Osborn straight, and not going Goblin.

she looks exactly like the comics, but I would think that on shield salary she could afford a nicer suit.

Cool, they kept the hair. I keep trying to get the missus to add colors to her hair, but nooo. "I don't wanna look weird." Too late, I'm already standing next to you.

And I genuinely like this show, for what it's worth. But I'm a longtime Whedon and marvel fan, so it'd have to really suck for me not to like it. I don't understand the fanboy hate on this site, though. Most of the complaints seem to be "There's no characters from the comics," which is not a valid criticism. You know what other shows didn't have Marvel comics characters in them? ALMOST EVERY OTHER FVCKING TV SHOW EVER. You might as well say "Seinfeld sucks. Where are the superhero cameos?" If you don't like the show, fine. I admit it's had a rocky start and I'm still not convinced the producers have a good idea of where they're going, and there are plenty of particular issues I could complain about, especially about how all the characters are so obviously designed to fill slots on some "Characters we need on this type of show" checklist and are only now starting to develop into actual people the audience might care about. But I'd still rather watch Agents Of SHIELD rather than Arrow, which is just the usual CW who's-sleeping-with-who soap opera bullshit with the occasional DC Comics reference tossed in to keep the fanboys paying attention. The action sequences are pretty good, though, I'll admit. If somebody could just cut together all the what-happened-on-the-island flashbacks I'd totally watch that show. But comparing Arrow and SHIELD is relly apples and oranges.

The Winter Soldier is going to change everything, including AoS. If the World Org. were to use Tonys tek to create Ultron I could absolutely see him taking over Shield then laying the work for Civil Ware. In 4 years there will be PLENTY of powered characters.

Wow, I could have composed that better. My old college professors would be ashamed.

So, the name Saffron Burrows sounds really familiar, but not the ace of that actress up there. maybe it's the glasses. Has anyone in real life ever had the last name Hand?
