In the wake of The Battle of New York, the world has changed forever. An extraordinary landscape of wonders has been revealed! In response, mysteriously resurrected Agent Phil Coulson assembles an elite team of skilled agents and operatives: Melinda May, Grant Ward, Leo Fitz, Jemma Simmons and new recruit/computer hacker Skye. Together, they investigate the new, the strange, and the unknown across the globe, protecting the ordinary from the extraordinary. But every answer unearths even more tantalizing questions that reverberate across the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe: Who is "The Clairvoyant”? What is Hydra’s sinister master plan? What dark secret lies behind Skye’s puzzling origins? And most importantly of all, who can be trusted?

Season one of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will be released on DVD and Blu-ray on September 9th.

One of the 'good' things about this show... I wish I enjoyed this show more, but hell, the scope was too big and they couldn't live up too my expectations- gave up watching properly a long time ago, but in a post-Winter Soldier, I may give it a bit more of a chance...

Still, can't help to think of how much potential this show wasted, would've enjoyed it a damn lot more if the 'agents' we're more like the SHIELD Strike teams or even regular SHIELD agents like Sharon Carter and what not... Hell, they should've played it safe and started of small- something like Coulson putting together a little task force to recover remaining black market Chitauri weapons only to fall upon bigger threats every now and then...

Oh well... Season 2 gets one shot from me, then no more obligatory viewing, unlike this show Arrow and The Flash know how to float my boat...

What's with the constant hate? It's entertainment. All the butthurt DC fans. Proud of you for having a good show. As DC continues to embarass themselves in the competition against Marvel for film dominance. It's your only way to back yourselves, you butthurt DC fans. Why not put down the bias, call yourselves DC and Marvel fans, and just enjoy both??

And for pointman, come one "seeing as how the average asgardian female can lift 25 tons etc.." come on. This isn't the comics, and you know that by now. Can MCU Hulk even lift 25 Tons? Thor can't, so why would Sif be able to??

The insecurities of individuals is being revealed through the comments and biases..it's not about defending the property, it's indirectly defending/justifying your opinion, and beliefs. Using something you care for as an external source of peace of mind. Guess what, enjoy the media for what it is, see a therapist, and look for peace within. Criticizing something will not make your issues any lesser.

@marvel72 that's the problem though. even though it's shield in name only, and that's only one of the reasons why I'm not a fan of the show, but IF they actually tied the show into the mcu WITH legitimate characters I'd be forced to watch... but so far all they do is 'whisper' about characters and for that, it gets a pass.

Thor, more like bore. It's funny how the lamest franchises marvel has have the most sequels, Iron Man/Thor... coming from a huge objective marvel fan.

i don't think the shows budget will stretch to having the main avengers cast star,we've had fury, sif & hill episodes & they do connect certain episodes to recent movies such as thor the dark world & captain america the winter soldier.

maybe we'll get something more with season 2.

.... it will be cool,
OR
she could be part of this secret avengers,
shes a great cast just like idris alba,
its a waste they have small roles that
lacks their bigger roles possibilities..

@marvel72 valid points, but I just feel that the show is extremely vanilla (I guess I have to move past the pre-mid 2000's comic SHIELD, which I felt was much grittier) and if I may be so blunt, a cock tease.

The hinting, the 'nods' and such drive me crazy. I get the budget concerns, but shit this is Disney we are speaking of.

Give me a shout when the tone darkens up a bit and they delve deeper into the cool characters at their disposal... or I can give you a shout once Gotham begins ;-)
