That's beginning to change now and female characters have always fared better on TV. Sure, we still get our fair share of love interests but most have played actual heroes and villains or characters the lead needs to help them become heroes.
No matter the roles they've taken on, though, a lot of very beautiful actresses have played many different characters in the Marvel, DC Comics, and various other universes over the years and have delivered some incredible performances in the process. Patty Spivot's role in The Flash was far too brief, especially as she was such a great love interest for Barry Allen. She's unlikely to return as the Scarlet Speedster is about to get hitched!
