HAWKEYE: Hailee Steinfeld Addresses Young Avengers Speculation; Jeremy Renner Talks AVENGERS: ENDGAME Fallout

Talking at the press conference for Hawkeye, Jeremy Renner sheds some light on where we find Clint Barton when the series begins, while Hailee Steinfeld talks more about that Young Avengers speculation.

The final Marvel Studios TV series coming to Disney+ in 2021, Hawkeye promises to introduce a major new superhero to the MCU and pick up with one of the six original Avengers. As you'll know, Iron Man and Black Widow are dead, Steve Rogers is M.I.A., and The Hulk will return in She-Hulk. Thor, meanwhile, is set to appear in both Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 and Thor: Love and Thunder, but Clint Barton's story continues here alongside Kate Bishop.

Talking at the global press conference for Hawkeye earlier this week, Jeremy Renner addressed his character's "survivor's guilt" after Natasha Romanoff's death in Avengers: Endgame

"There [are] a lot of things that are lost. It's addressed in the show, which I think is beautifully intimate. It brings our characters closer together as well as the audience," the actor explained. "There's a lot of weight that's carried. There might be a veneer of grumpiness in this resting face in the show, but it ultimately comes from just the weight and the horrors and tragedies and loss that come with the game."

"Managing losses is the superhero game, and the lightness and brightness that Hailee's character brings in kind of counteracts that. It's pretty cathartic, and I think quite beautiful."

Later, Hailee Steinfeld was asked how she feels about the stage being set to assemble alongside her fellow Young Avengers in the MCU, a plan that hasn't actually been confirmed yet. Needless to say, she chose her words carefully. "I mean, listen, this feels so crazy to me right now just sitting here with this group of people. I'm so grateful to be a part of this show and this universe, and it's only the beginning. The show's not even out, so I'm looking forward to that day [Laughs]."

It's definitely exciting to think about what could come next for Steinfeld's Hawkeye, regardless of whether that involves a certain superhero team. Honestly, it could just be that the next iteration of Earth's Mightiest Heroes is made up of a mix of new and experienced characters, meaning there's no need for a specific team of "Young" Avengers.

Hawkeye arrives on Disney+ with its first two episodes on November 24.

If they are going to do a Young Avengers they should hurry up about it. Theses youngsters won't always be youngsters.

@defenderofthefaith - it should really be a 12 episode Disney+ Series. Double the length of the usual amount because the actors are going to age FAST so squeeze the most out of them while you can

Wait, Thor is supposed to appear in the Guardians movie? I'm pretty sure it's the other way around.

Anyway, whether it is addressed or not, it would be foolish to assume there isn't gonna be Young Avenger project with Eli, Tommy, Billy, Cassie, Kid Loki, America Chavez and Kate all being introduced. All we need now is Iron Lad (and maybe also Hulkling)

The next Avengers movie could easily be an A-Force movie. They will have heroes to "replace" all the original 6 Avengers now: Jane Foster or Valkyrie -> Thor, She Hulk -> Hulk, Widow Yelena -> Widow Natasha, Hawkeye Kate -> Hawkeye Clint, Capt Marvel -> Capt America, IronHeart -> IronMan. Throw in Stature, Ms. Marvel, Spectrum, maybe Wanda (if she gets her marbles back), Wasp.. Yep, A-Force is the ticket.
