Will 'Trish Walker' Become 'Hellcat' In JESSICA JONES Season 2?

It's not even been a day since we learned of the second season of Marvel's Jessica Jones getting the greenlight on Netflix and already we've got something to wonder about. We all thought about it during season 1; will Trish Walker eventually become Hellcat like she does in the comics? Well, Rachael Taylor who played the character in the first season of Jessica Jones has spoke to IGN about that very possibility. When asked about the possiblity of her character becoming a full-fledged superhero, Taylor had this to say:

I try not to get ahead of myself and think about it too much because it’s easy to get carried away and think about things. You don’t want to count your eggs before they hatch. We just found out about the second season today and this is my first show that’s gone to a second season so I’m super stoked. I already feel like I have more than my share, in a way, being on Netflix, being in the Marvel Universe, being on this show that has resonated so deeply with people. But, of course, it would be amazing! [Laughs] It’s already a privilege to play a history that has so much lineage within the Marvel universe and to take it that one step further, is something that, yeah… I’d love to get my teeth stuck into whatever happens to the character.

So, what do you guys think? Would you be game to see Trish take up the mantle of Hellcat? If it did happen, could you see her ending up as a member of the Defenders down the line? Leave all your thoughts in the comments section below.

I would think she would. Jessica will have to help her and try to convince her to stop, then Nuke will show up and kidnap Trish.

Hmmmm was thinking, maybe they should introduce the villain/villains from The Defenders already kinda like Thanos. Might work better on film though.

Like maybe start showing them plotting things behind the scenes, have them be part of DareDevil season 2 and Jessica Jones season 2, maybe part of Luke Cage.

@ALmazing No disrespect to Krysten, but holy cow she's sporting an Egoraptor look in that gif.

@WakandasSoul

Now all i can think about is seeing Panther and HellCat team up. If Marvel doesn't have the rights to Storm, who do you think his love interest will be

Hopefully she does. This shows needs something to actually make you think your watching a superhero show, other than her and Cage using their powers to have sex and crack walls.

@WakandasSoul - lmao right!?! She's nice.

I thought she was standout in JJ and I felt more intrigued by her character more than Jessica's. Her and Luke Cage were the best part of JJ.

God I hope so! More than anything I just want to see what the MCU can do with her costume!

I'd like it if she does. She's already a badass from what we've seen.

The Defenders squad looks to be a large one:
1. Daredevil
2. Jessica Jones
3. Luke Cage
4. Iron Fist
5. Punisher
6. Hellcat
7. Elektra?

Unless JJ gets Season 2 before Defenders then it's too soon for Hellcat. JJ might be the first to leave and become a side character for Luke when she becomes pregnant. Also Misty Knight and Colleen Wing will be coming so Heroes for Higher?

Netflix did more with Patsie Walker in 13 episodes than Marvel has in 30 years. Taylor's performance was beyond great (once you get past the inexplicable accent), the chemistry with Ritter was perfect. She's pretty much everything Carol should have been in the Alias comic, but wasn't.

I hope we get Hellcat sooner rather than later and we get lots more of both of them. Maybe rebrand the show "Alias Investigations" after Defenders and possibly shift the focus of the show toward the mystic to play up some of Hellcat's storylines and introduce Blade or Ghost Rider to the MCU. Not necessarily in a big role or even as a backdoor pilot, but just as a part of the universe. Alongside "Heroes for Hire" and Daredevil, I think those three shows could be a really satisfying microverse for Netflix to play with.

@Melkaticox
What, do you also want Jessica (Drew) and Carol to make out already?

How weird is it that (I know Bendis denied it, but I don't believe him) Jessica Jones was created because the powers-that-be wouldn't let them use Jessica Drew, and that Patsie Walker was adapted because the powers-that-be wouldn't let them use Carol Danvers, and that both characters are now probably better known than their "name brand" originals? It's a bit like Watchmen / Charlton Comics all over again. When will people learn that it's probably better for an unused character to get a controversial storyline than it is to just continue to not use them?

At least we'll eventually get a Captain Marvel movie with Carol, but Jessica Drew really got shafted here.
