Today's roundup of Marvel news is perhaps one of our biggest to date, because not only do we have more from Disney CEO Bob Iger about both Martin Scorsese and possible MCU franchise fatigue, but there's also some major Ms. Marvel casting news pertaining to the hero's family and villain.

There have also been some big Marvel Television developments, and we have a possible update on the first Black Widow trailer along with Hot Toys' 1/4th scale Nano Gauntlet collectible.

However, the highlight might just be Brie Larson's must-see Halloween costume!

There's lots of great content here for fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (and beyond), so all you have to do to check it out is click on the "View List" button down below...

"I Don't Think He's Ever Seen A Marvel Film"

Iger

"Ouch!" was Disney CEO Bob Iger's response when BBC asked about his initial response to Martin Scorsese's recent anti-Marvel comments. "[He's] a great film-maker. I admire him immensely. He's made some great films. I would debate him on this subject. First of all, Marvel's making movies. They're movies. That's what Martin Scorsese makes. And they're good movies."

Iger was also quick to point out that Scorsese hasn't even seen the movies he's criticising and it's clear that he's extremely protective of the Marvel brand. "I don't think he's ever seen a Marvel film. Anyone who's seen a Marvel film could not in all truth make that statement."

Marvel Studios Brings A Marvel Television Name Into The Fold

Ms-Marvel1

With casting on the Disney+ TV shows heating up (we'll get to that a little later), it appears as if Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige is already bringing in Marvel Television personnel to help.

While longtime MCU casting director Sarah Finn is well-known for her big screen work, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s casting director Krista Husar is now working on both Ms. Marvel and Loki. Finn is also credited on the ABC series, of course, but this points to Feige making good use of those who have worked on past Marvel TV shows to now help with those coming to Disney's streaming service.

Ms. Marvel Is Looking To Cast Kamala Khan's Family

Kamala

It's no secret that Marvel Studios is looking for an actress between the ages of 16 - 24 to take on the role of Kamala Khan in Ms. Marvel, and Discussing Film now reports that they're also on the hunt for the rest of the hero's family. Pakistani-American actors are being sought for the following:

  • Amir Khan, the older brother of Kamala Khan who they are eyeing to cast a Male in their 20s for the role.
  • Muneeba Khan, the mother of Kamala Khan who they are eyeing to cast a Female in their 40s-50s for the role.
  • Yusuf Khan, the father of Kamala Khan who they are eyeing to cast a Male in their 40s-50s for the role.

It's said that shooting is still expected to begin as soon as next April, so it probably won't be long until we start seeing more from the series (the character is obviously a priority for the studio).

When Could We See The Black Widow Trailer?

Black-Widow

The folks over at MCU Cosmic have put their detective hats on to try and figure out when we'll see the first Black Widow trailer. Well, based on past experience, they believe we'll get that first sneak peek either during the last week of November or the first couple of weeks of December.

That would mean it could play in front of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker

There's definitely precedent for this, and while nothing is official at this early stage, don't be surprised if Black Widow's marketing campaign kicks off in a big way over the next month or two.

Disney CEO Bob Iger Isn't Worried About Marvel "Oversaturation"

Cpat

In that same interview with the BBC, Iger was asked if he's concerned with the Marvel brand essentially over saturating the marketplace. After all, many moviegoers appear to have already grown bored of Star Wars movies and there are nowhere near as many adventures in the galaxy far, far away out there right now.

"Marvel is just doing sensationally well," Iger countered when the idea of there being too much Marvel was put to him. "The last film they released [Avengers: Endgame] had the highest global box office in the history of the motion picture business, and their pipeline is very, very rich with new stories and new characters and new adventures and new superhero exploits. So not true."

We brought you an list of awesome celebrity Halloween costumes yesterday, but here's one that didn't pop up online until a little later. As you can see, Captain Marvel star Brie Larson decided to dress as Britney Spears. An unexpected choice, but a look the Oscar-winner definitely pulls off here.

Ms. Marvel's Villain Possibly Revealed

TX122231

Well, it sounds like Ms. Marvel is going to take us to some very weird places, as casting is reportedly also underway for a character called "Birdman" according to GWW. Looking at the comic books, common sense says Marvel Studios is actually looking to cast a villain by the name of The Inventor.

As you can see above, he is basically a "birdman" and, believe it or not, he's supposed to be a clone of Thomas Edison who ended up being a giant bird when the scientist accidentally mixed up some DNA samples. Something tells us Marvel Studios will probably make a few changes to that origin story!

A Peek Inside Spider-Man's Mask

Marvel Studios Head of Visual Development Ryan Meinerding is the gift that keeps on giving, as he's now taken to Instagram to share some amazing Spider-Man: Homecoming concept art which reveals just how intricate the inside of Peter Parker's Stark suit was. His work here is, well, spectacular!

Imma big nerd.
I've followed Marvel's Cinematic Universe since the very beginning.
I've obviouly watched every single movie but also tv shows and even read prequel comics or whatever.

But now i think they've finally reached that point where i no longer feel the need to "consume" everything, especially because it's getting difficult.
I'm ok with it tho, Endgame was my end goal.
Not saying i won't watch Kamala Khan or things like that, but i won't force myself like i did with that gutter trash show of Inhumans, never again lol.

When ppl talk about "oversaturation"...i mean, it depends...
When you have a shared universe and they pretend you should consume every single shit to properly understand some climax of a saga, then yeah, i guess we have a problem here.
But if one is just addressing cinecomix in general then that's a mistake.
Because cinecomics are not a "genre" per se, so from that pov you can't oversaturate the market, you can't have "MCU fatigue".
You look around you and you'll see superheroes everywhere in one form or another, that could annoy some people, but that doesn't mean much.
These are not like western movies, 80 years of comics tells me that. :)

@Doomsday8888 -

We all grow up and do not feel as obsessed about certain franchises as before but people forget that while it wind up for us, other, new, younger fans are coming and replacing us as the main consumers and fanbase of Marvel.

They will embrace new superheroes coming to life through movies, the way we embraced IM, Cap, ect...

As long as Feige put the same passion to it and deliver good movies, the pool of fans consuming those movies will never really cease or drop dramatically.
