MS. MARVEL Rumored Story Details Reveal How Kamala Khan Gains Her Powers In The MCU

Some rumored story details for Ms. Marvel have been revealed, and it sounds like Kamala Khan won't receive her powers from the Inhumans - no big surprise after Marvel Television's disastrous TV series!

In the comic books, Ms. Marvel gains her powers after being exposed to the Inhuman Terrigen Mists, but with no indication that Marvel Studios has plans for Black Bolt and company, it seems unlikely the character's Disney+ series will delve into that side of things. As a result, there's been a lot of debate online about how Kamala Khan will gain her abilities in the MCU.

According to That Hashtag Show, Ms. Marvel will see the young hero power-up after she's blasted by "a bolt of energy, and this will give her some magical powers."

While her abilities will be the same for the most part, it seems the bracelets she wears will be what gives her superpowers. Whether she has to don them in order to use these newfound "magical powers" is unclear, but there is precedent in the comic books with the Kree-created Nega-Bands.

The original Captain Marvel, Rick Jones, Photon, Ms. Marvel (Carol Danvers), and Marvel Boy are among the heroes to have donned them in the past. Kamala following in their footsteps does make sense, especially as using Kree tech will help tie her story into Captain Marvel's.

Kevin Feige isn't believed to be a great lover of the Inhumans, and it was Marvel Entertainment CEO Isaac Perlmutter who wanted the focus to be put on those characters in the MCU as an X-Men replacement.

The site also claims that Kamran will be Ms. Marvel's lead villain, but won't be an Inhuman either. Instead, it sounds like he wants Kamala's powerful new bracelets.

Never really liked the Inhumans either (and much less thanks to the show), so I don't really mind this change.

@bkmeijer - The Inhumans are pretty good but Kamala Khan is shite.

@kitheka - Black Bolt,Medusa and Triton are all vastly superior and more interesting.

@bkmeijer - The Inhumans are very interesting characters, though. The big mistake was trying t make them tthe replacement of mutants at some point, which is contrary to everything the Inhumans are supposed to be: they are this deeply isolated, monarchist people, with a rigid genetics-based class system. That can't be applied in a wide canvas, nor can they be turned into the metaphor of discrimination that mutants are. They are far darker, mroe complex and less noble, in many ways. If done right, you could come up with a great Game of Thrones kinda show with them.

@Franshu - that is exactly in what context I think they can be interesting, I just doubt we'll ever get that

So which one is it? Sbe gets blasted by energy and that gives her powers, or do the bracelets give her the powers? Or does she get blasted while wearing the bracelets, and the bracelets get powered up?

This doesn't make much sense. I'm calling BS.

So Monica, Carol and Kamala will all get their power in the same generic way? Lol three times isn't a coincidence

@bobevanz - By that logic all superheroes have "generic" origins.

"Kevin Feige isn't believed to be a great lover of the Inhumans ...." Source?

Wasn't it back in 2014 or so that Feige greenlit an Inhumans movie, and then the movie was scrapped in favor of the Inhumans TV show that Perlmutter lobbied for?

@GeneralZod - it's been widely reported he wasn't keen on doing the inhumans movie and that Ike perlmutter wanted something to compete with x-men and pretty much forced him to do it. Once Kevin got out from under Ike in the whole shake up at Marvel, he immediately got rid of it. Ike, still wanting to be a douche, revived it as a tv show almost immediately.

Sounds like BS. It’s not Khan then.

I feel like BTS photos definitely confirmed some Inhumans stuff earlier this year but maybe I’m wrong.

@Drace24 - I thought the same thing! Haven't read any of her story so I don't know if her origin and being an inhuman is essential to her story or if it can be tweaked.

@ElvenKingSlayer - Honestly, besides the cocoon, I never really understood the difference. Why do we need Inhumans in a world where mutants already exist.

Not really interested in this show but will watch it because it is part of the MCU/Disney Marvel shows.
