The Hollywood Reporter has learned that relative newcomer Laurel Marsden (Survive) has joined the cast of Marvel Studios' Ms. Marvel as the Marvel Comics character Zoe Zimmer, a classmate and occasional friend/bully of Kamala Khan's (Iman Vellani).

Further details are being kept under wraps, but production is currently underway in Atlanta, so it's likely that she's now on set and quite possible that she's already filmed some scenes opposite Vellani.

Bisha K. Ali is the head writer on the series, with the duo Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah (Bad Boys for LifeBlack), 2x Academy Award-winner Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy (A Girl in the River: The Price of ForgivenessSaving Face), and Meera Menon (The Walking Dead; The Punisher) all directing different installments.

Marsden is the latest addition to the cast, joining headliner Iman Vellani as the titular heroine, Aramis Knight as Kareem/Red Dagger, Saagar Shaikh as Amir Khan, Rish Shah as Kamran, Zenobia Shroff as Muneeba Khan, Mohan Kapoor as Yusuf Khan, Matt Lintz as Bruno Carrelli, Yasmeen Fletcher as Nakia Bahadir, Laith Nakli as Sheikh Abdullah, Azhar Usman in an undisclosed role, Travina Springer as Tyesha Hillman, Nimra Bucha in an undisclosed role, and Randy Havens in an undisclosed recurring role.

Ms. Marvel is scheduled to arrive exclusively on Disney+ in Late 2021.

Surely not a coincidence that Wandavision is set in New Jersey also. Fully expecting some sort of Ms Marvel set-up by the end of the series.

Not familiar with the source material, so I'm guessing she's like Ms Marvel's Flash Thompson.
Cool casting I guess

Never heard of her, but I hope she kills it.

I'm not THAT familiar with Ms Marvel (well, this Ms Marvel anyway) but I'm in. Marvel tells such well thought out, interesting and interconnected stories, that it would be a shame if I missed something.

Ms. Marvel is the only show i'm not really sold on and dont have an attachment to but in Feige we trust I suppose. If he can make me excited for Ant-man im sure he can make this something I obsess over as well

@Ha1frican - What exactly aren't you sold on? Lol. We haven't seen anything on it

@Tonic24k - The character isn’t one I really know much about or that seems interesting to me and some of the set photos kinda seemed like low budget ABC stuff. I’m open to it but it’s not like WandaVision, FATWS, and even Sh-Hulk where I’m like I need that right now and can’t wait for it

@Ha1frican - I get not knowing about the characters but calling it low budget based on set photos?... That makes no sense. How do set photos look big budget? And you really think Marvel Studios is going to produce something like ABC quality? Let's be real here. And I mean does this look like big budget?

Again, not caring for the characters is one thing. But to say you're "not sold on it" is really premature. There's nothing to be sold on yet.

Will be interesting how they are going to adapt her origin.

@YonnyLayna - Is it coming out after The Eternals? They could inject some Inhumans lore into the MCU in that.

Mena Massoud is an underrated actor, and I hope that he crushes the role.

@Battabing - Why couldn't they get someone who looked more like Ezra?
