Secret Invasion has received a mostly positive response from fans, but there are those who have been disappointed with the surprisingly low-key series.

Now, all eyes are on the finale to deliver a worthy conclusion to this story. As with previous MCU TV shows on Disney+, it feels like there's an awful lot to cram into next Wednesday's last chapter, especially with Nick Fury on a collision course with the Super-Skrull Gravik.

In this feature, we're sharing our bold predictions for Secret Invasion's finale. From unexpected twists and turns to how we believe the story will culminate, we've even picked up on a few clues over the past five weeks that make some of these more likely than others!

To take a look through this breakdown, you just need to click on the "Next" button below.

5. The Importance Of The Widow's Veil

JAM-102-15695-R

In today's episode, Nick Fury uses the renamed Widow's Veil to get through airport security. Sonya Falsworth mocks the limitations of the tech, only for the former S.H.I.E.L.D. Director to point out there's now an advanced version which can change a person's entire body.

In other words, it can give a human the same abilities as a shape-shifting Skrull!

We're convinced this is going to come into play in the finale because why mention it otherwise? Heading into his confrontation with Gravik, Fury is hopelessly outgunned by the Super-Skrull, so we believe one of Earth's Mightiest Heroes will take his place to battle the villain...

4. A Major Hero Appears

Captain-Marvel-1

If our previous prediction is correct, then Captain Marvel makes the most sense. The reveal that Gravik is, in fact, battling Carol Danvers would be a huge moment and arguably a necessity if the Super-Skrull's plan to destroy Earth is going to be stopped.

Monica Rambeau is another possibility, as is Quake. However, that Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. character showing up would go over the heads of most viewers, so Carol arguably makes the most sense.

Even if we're wrong about when it happens, we are expecting a post-credits scene to set the stage for The Marvels. Fury will be a big part of that sequel, as will the Skrulls based on what little we've seen from the Captain Marvel follow-up.

3. Rhodey Returns

JAM-102-01885-R

The real Rhodey returning is a given (alongside Martin Freeman's Everett Ross, hopefully) but we're anticipating at least one major twist when he finds himself part of this world again.

In Secret Invasion's latest instalment, Fury reveals that he tasked Gravik with retrieving those DNA samples from the site of the Battle of New York. That may have given the villain the idea to use those and become a Super-Skrull, but we're sure he was already plotting this invasion during the time Fury was missing in action.

With that in mind, we think Rhodey has been missing in action prior to Avengers: Endgame. With that in mind, don't be shocked if one of the first things the real deal asks when he wakes up is, "Where's Tony?"

2. Gi'ah's New MCU Role

JAM-101-31471-R

Emilia Clarke is too talented to waste on being little more than a supporting player in Secret Invasion, and we're expecting to see big things from her moving forward.

There will be limited time in the finale to set the stage for her future, but we believe Gi'ah - who is now powered up by Extremis - will begin working for Sonya Falsworth. As a middle-person between Earth and whatever Fury is up to in space, she can become the MCU's version of Abigail Brand (green hair and all).

This could be easily achieved by someone asking Gi'ah what the woman whose face she's using was called, and while it would be an unconventional introduction for Brand, it would make her a major player in this shared world.

1. One Final Skrull Reveal

JAM-101-00214-R

While all signs point to many of Earth's Skrulls following Fury to his base above the planet, there's no way each and every single of them will be killed or outed.

A resolution like that would be far too neat, and we're anticipating a last-minute reveal that confirms at least one big-name character is still an alien imposter. Sonya is a compelling possibility, while we wouldn't be surprised to catch up with Sharon Carter, learning she's not who she claims to be either.

There's always a chance one of Earth's Mightiest Heroes is a Skrull, though it would have to be a human like Rhodey seeing as Gravik's Super-Skrull machinery is in its infancy. How about Yelena Belova? Or M'Baku? That could be fun...

Just got done watching the episode. And oh what a surprise, it teases something exciting that never actually arrives, features action scenes of characters I don’t care about, features a cameo I don’t care about, and ends abruptly.

Just like every other episode. And 35 minutes for a 6 episode series haha go [frick] myself

This shows been the very definition of filler, but I don’t subscribe to the idea that Secret Invasion should’ve been saved for the movies. You can’t build the same suspense behind the mystery of who is a Skrull in the MCU without sacrificing possibly years worth of character development, and without that, the comic event was mid af anyway

Some decent ideas here and there, but damn does it make me wish this was given a film or two with a bigger budget and more heroes so it feels as remotely as epic as the comic story line.

I think that Gravik will be the child of Nick Fury and Priscilla Greencheeks.

One thing you might not have noticed (and might not even have been intentional?) was how Pagon's death seemed to be an homage to Elektra's death in Daredevil #181. His jacket stretched out at the back for a moment when Gravik pierced through his heart. Pagon was the Elektra Skrull in the comics.

@ObserverIO - But didn't Priscilla(before she became hee) introduce Gravik to Fury in a flashback in the show? Gravik was a teenager.

@ElvenKingSlayer - That's right. Maybe Priscilla was lying?

@ElvenKingSlayer - Didn't he meet her in the '90s?

@ObserverIO - I might remember wrong but in one of the episodes she presents teenage Gravik to Fury. This was in the 90s so Gravik was to old to be Furys son. The scene looks like it takes place soon after the Captain Marvel movie. Even if he was his son the scene plays out weird. She tells something about Gravik being the sole survivor and escaping in a ship. They could be lying to hide that Gravik is their son but it doesn't feel like it.

"samples from the site of the Battle of New York"

It was the battle of Earth, the one from Endgame.

What if they bring back Terrance Howard and he says Rhodes has been a Skrull since Iron Man 2? 🤯
