This October, Dracula will look to exact his revenge on mankind and raise hell on humanity with his army of darkness when
Castlevania returns to Netflix for its second season. At Asia Pop Con, executive produce Adi Shankar
premiered the first trailer for the highly anticipated second season and after playing it twice for the crowd who "went nuts," it was finally shared online for all fans to enjoy.
With humans no match for Dracula and his army, it's up to Trevor, Alucard, and Sypha to stop the madness. The trailer gives us a glimpse of the bloody, epic battle that will soon ensue.
Although Netflix's
Castlevania series is based on the classic video game series of the same name, Season 2 will diverge away from the story told in the 1989 Nintendo classic. Still, the adaptation seems pretty faithful to the overall tone of the video game series and fans are undoubtedly in for another treat when the series returns. We don't have a specific synopsis for Season 2, but Netflix's description for the
Castlevania animated series reads:
"Inspired by the classic video game series, Castlevania is a dark medieval fantasy following the last surviving member of the disgraced Belmont clan, trying to save Eastern Europe from extinction at the hand of Vlad Dracula Tepe himself. The animated series is from Frederator Studios, a Wow! Unlimited Media company, written by best-selling author and comic book icon Warren Ellis and executive produced by Warren Ellis, Kevin Kolde, Fred Seibert and Adi Shankar."
Castlevania Season 2 will premiere on Netflix on October 26 for a full slate of eight episodes (double the episode count of the first season). And while Netflix hasn't officially announced a third season yet, actor Richard Armitage, who voices the main antihero Trevor Belmont, recently
spilled the beans for a third season. But let's not get too ahead of ourselves. Perhaps we should wait and see how the battle with Dracula unfolds first.
