Robert Sheehan Wasn't As Carefree As His Character When It Came To Dancing In THE UMBRELLA ACADEMY

Netflix's The Umbrella Academy has been praised for it's song choices and dance numbers in the month since it's release but a new interview with the actor who plays Klaus explains how they made him feel.

The musical aspects of The Umbrella Academy are unsurprising, especially when taken into consideration that the show is an adaptation of a comic series that was written by Gerard Way. Yes, that Gerard way, of My Chemical Romance.

Many people found Robert Sheehan to be a perfect casting for Klaus A.K.A. The Seance, especially due to the similarities between the character and his most well known role of Nathan from U.K.'s Misfits. However, the actor himself has explained that he didn't feel quite as carefree as he may have looked during the first dance sequence, "I Think I'm Alone Now" as he had to shoot the dance sequence with his new cast and crew before ever shooting dialogue.

“It was my first thing shooting…You know, sometimes there’s a sort of terror that exists in an actor’s belly before they’ve done any acting in front of their new crew and cast and family. And the first thing I did, was my part of the dance montage, and I was shi**ing a giant brick. I was terrified. It was my first day of filming…”

In addition, Emmy Raver-Lampman who plays Allison A.K.A. The Rumor, stated that Steve Blackman, the show's creator, communicated in many a series of e-mails to communicate to all of the cast that they would each need unique styles of dancing. Judging by the general audience reaction to the dance scenes, it was well worth the effort, as many loved the dance sequence and many fans now see Sheehan as the embodiment of Klaus.
