Talking at the Television Critics Association press tour earlier this week, Showtime revealed that Josh Hartnett and Eva Green will star in Penny Dreadful. Skyfall scribe John Logan is set to write all eight episodes of the series, with the director of that movie Sam Mendes set to executive produce. It was at one point thought he would direct the first episode, but other commitments (the next James Bond movie) mean that it will now be helmed by The Impossible's Juan Antonio Bayona. Set in Victorian England, the horror series will feature iconic horror characters such as Dracula, Van Helsing, Dorian Gray and Dr. Frankenstein. Hartnett is set to play Ethan Chandler, "a charming American who finds himself trapped in the darkest corners of Victorian London." Green meanwhile will play Vanessa Ives, "a seductive and formidable beauty full of secrets and danger." More details are expected to be revealed in the New Year.

2 things. What happened to Josh Hartnett? He's been gone from the movie world for quite a long time. Also DAMN! Eva looks gorgeous in that banner.

This is high-end shit what with movie qualty starts and Mendes behinf the wheel. Here's hoping that this is indicitive of a good script.

I expect if the LXG tv show goes throughthere'll be more shows like this to tap the market.

Hartnet seems to like roles in the horror genre. He has been MIA for awhile, I didn't even notice until now. He was good in 30 days of night, other than that I don't really think he's that great of an actor. Might be why he's moving to TV. Eva Green mmmmm... Yummy

Josh did drop off for a bit,he's not the best actor out there but compared to lame asses like Ashton Kutcher & other weak actors in his age range,Hartnett is decent enough.

Eva Green's body is incredible, she's a good actress who just loves going nude on film..I mean showing not just T&A but her Shlooch too.

Josh Hartnett would be a kick-ass Matt Murdock. Sadly, that'll never happen because of my next sentence. THe only reason he felt out of Hollywood fame is because studio execs wanted him to be another pretty boy action star and he wanted to do more intimate projects.

Josh Hartnett is a wonderful actor, but has made some really bad career choices. I sure hope this movie pans out for him so he can get back into real movies, and hopefully a comic book movie(hopefully Dr. Strange. I mean just look at the trailer for his latest movie..

god awful.
