The newest season of Fortnite has gone live, and while it's not entirely Star Wars themed, one of the franchise's most recognizable characters has joined the battle royale game.

The Mandalorian and The Child (aka Baby Yoda, aka Grogu) are both featured in the Chapter 2 - Season 5 Battle Pass. Din Djarin is available as a character skin (Outfit), while The Child can be worn on the player's back (Back Bling).

The theme of Chapter 2 - Season 5 revolves around the opening of Zero Point and "the loop" -- the looping moment in time in which Fortnite matches take place. Agent Jones -- one of the season's character outfits -- is tasked with preventing people from escaping the loop. So he has rounded up all the greatest hunters from across realities. Naturally, that incudes The Mandalorian.

While the standard Mando skin is available for players who purchase this season's Battle Pass, there's also a quest that can be completed to unlock additional armor options.

The Mandalorian's inclusion in Fortnite is Epic's latest collaboration with Disney. Last season of the battle royale game was entirely themed around Marvel and concluded with a massive showdown against GalactusFortnite creative director Donald Mustard previously teased that they've got Marvel integration ideas planned for many more years but it looks like Star Wars is taking center stage for now.

This isn't the first time Fortnite has borrowed from the galaxy far, far away. There have been multiple events and various cosmetics themed around Star Wars in the past.

Fortnite is free to play on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4, Switch and PC.

I'd love to be into this game. The Travis Scott event looked dope af. The Marvel event is obviously appealing... I just simply don't understand the building aspect of this game. Like why?! I tried playing it once and that aspect of the game just ruined it for me.

@Tonic24k - same here. The events all look pretty cool, but the actual gameplay puts me off as well

Nothing could get me to go back to that game. None of the massive Marvel, DC, or crossover events. But Mando? Okay, I may check it out. But if I have to pay for him (let's face it, I'd probably have to) I'm not picking it up again.

Epic keeps wanting me to get back into this game so bad, but I don't know if I want to. I don't miss it too much.
