This week's episode of
The Mandalorian slowed things down a little with an adventure set on the iconic planet of Tatooine. That's right, we visited the homeworld of characters like Anakin Skywalker, Jabba the Hutt, and, uh, Watto for a Mos Eisley-set tale that didn't feature any noteworthy cameos, but still paid homage to
A New Hope and our other visits to the planet.
There were Pit Droids, Stormtrooper helmets impaled on spikes, Tusken Raiders, and even a trip to the "wretched hive of scum and villainy" from
A New Hope. There, the Mandalorian came acorss Toro Calican, a wannabe Bounty Hunter who enlisted his help in order to take down a dangerous killer called Fennec (Ming-Na Wen).
Oh, and did we mention that Calican was sitting in the exact same spot as Han Solo in
A New Hope?
The duo eventually track Fennec down, but she tells Calican that capturing the Mandalorian will make him a legend (he hopes to join the Guild by taking her in, but guns her down and instead sets off for a confrontation with the show's lead). Needless to say, that doesn't work out too well for him! However, as the episode ends, we see a mysterious figure approach Fennec's lifeless body. There's speculation that this might be Boba Fett, but previoulsy released set photos suggest it's actually Giancarlo Esposito's character.
