The last few episodes of The Mandalorian have been standalone in nature, but today's "Chapter 7" brought things back to the storyline introduced in those early few instalments.

After receiving a message from Greef Karga promising to clear the Mandalorian's name in exchange for him killing "The Client," the bounty hunter enlists the help of Cara Dune and Kuiil (IG-11, meanwhile, is revealed to be alive but considerably more docile in nature after being reprogrammed).

After meeting with Greef on Nevarro, an attack from some creatures leads to "The Child" using his Force powers to heal a mortal wound suffered by the leader of the Guild who later reveals that he was planning to betray and kill the Mandalorian before he learned how special the baby is. Kuill is tasked with returning the youngster to the ship while the other three head back into town.

With the Mandalorian pretending to have been captured by Greef and Dune, "The Client" receives a message from Moff Gideon who proceeds to gun down him and his Stormtroopers with the help of Death Troopers and his own army (all of whom are decked out in spotless armour). He wants The Child and gets him, as we learn that two Scout Troopers gunned down poor Kuill as the episode ends.

It's a gut punch of an ending, and next week's finale can't get here soon enough. In the meantime, Disney has released some stills from the episode which you can see - along with other previously released images and concept art - by clicking on the "View List" button down below.m

Can we please talk about Baby Yoda using dark side abilities on Cara Dune! Little guy went next level in a friendly match of arm wrestling.

@RancidBane - I saw someone that Jedi younglings were actually very balanced with the force, due to them not being tainted by the experiences of life yet. Seeing how Baby Yoda used a very dark side ability, and not long after, using a very light side ability, would have to mean that he is perfectly balanced with the force.

@RancidBane - Dont forget that Luke also used the same dark side powers in ROTJ on Jabba’s guards.

@AnthonyVonGeek - I'm a firm believer that Luke isnt a pure Jedi. He never under went formal training for very long. He is the finest example of a force adept. He is not a true Jedi.

Was the point of releasing it early to introduce us to force healing or the black stormtroopers?
DTor91
DTor91 - 12/18/2019, 6:28 AM
@crawley - I think it was just to not have two-Star Wars related things released on the same day.

And those black troopers are the Death Troopers introduced in Rogue One!

NoobNoob - 12/18/2019, 6:30 AM
@crawley - both were introduced way before, force healing has been around since jedi knight saga or even before, and the death troopers since rogue one

@crawley - Rogue One is a live-action Star Wars movie dude. And it's one of the superior ones too.

@globaltravels - Naw, man. I just rewatched that scene like 10 times. Our boy is most definitely NOT breathing. He's smoking. But he isn't breathing. I just want to know if the Child can pull some miracle worker shit and Lazarus his ass.

What an intense [frick]ing episode. What I really liked about this one was how the unexpected kept happening. The Mandalorian has been good so far, but a lot of episodes have felt quite predictable. But this one kept throwing in surprise after surprise. That is so damn fine writing.

When a character who's probably had 30 mins or less of screentime (Kuill) has more impact on the audience than ones that have been in three 2+ hours movies, it shows one is doing it right, and the other, not so much.

Nice timing with the Wednesday showing just before Rise of Skywalker. It is almost as if they had a plan.

Really strong and good episode. I need to rewatch this (and last night's again) because they were so damn good, but I think tonight's would be my third favorite episode of the season, with the first being episode 3 and second being episode 6. Thrilling, great reveals, tying together loose ends and previous plot points, it was very well done.

Sad to see Kuill go, he was a very good character and I really liked the additional backstory we got tonight. Nice to see Greef Karga on the same side as Mando, great to have Cara Dune and IG-11 back. Love all the Empire references and all the types of stormtroopers at the end, surprised to see Herzog's character offed like that. Really interested to see and learn more about Esposito's character, wonder if he will stay around for season 2. Great new force abilities from Baby Yoda, hope (and expect) all will be well with the little fella.
