THE MANDALORIAN Executive Producer Jon Favreau Shares The Recipe For The Child's Stolen Space Cookies

Baby Yoda (Grogu) broke the internet after stealing that kid's cookies in "The Siege," and The Mandalorian's executive producer, Jon Favreau, has now shared the recipe so fans can make their own...

Whether it's Boba Fett's armour, The Child's eating habits, or Ahsoka Tano, The Mandalorian has been breaking the internet each and every week since returning to Disney+ in October. However, one moment which really seemed to resonate with fans was Grogu (as he's now known) stealing that kid's cookies during "The Siege."

If they looked familiar, it's because they were based on macarons you can find here on Earth, and while branded versions have been selling online for $50 per box  (yes, really!), The Mandalorian executive producer, director, and writer Jon Favreau has now shared his recipe.

The filmmaker also reveals what led to them being added to the Disney+ series in the first place.

"Josh, our prop master, came to us and was asking. 'What do these cookies look like?' If you look at the very end of the episode, under the credits, we like to include a lot of production art," Favreau explains. "So you can see the first look at what we thought it might look like. We wanted it to be blue, because it was like blue milk. And the prop master ended up baking macarons for it. But not a full macaron, not the sandwich, just like one half of the sandwich."

Favreau went on to admit that the macarons on set didn't have a huge amount of flavour, and also reveals a cheaper alternative for fans who would rather not fork out for the ingredients required to make them.

@bkmeijer - Robert Rodriguez is on an episode and if you’ve ever seen any special features on his movies (most of them) he’s got a 10 minute cooking lesson. Such a random side for these directors to thoroughly enjoy cooking but also super rad

I appreciate his appreciation of cooking. Especially in Star Wars, where the food is always kinda weird but actually very pedestrian stuff. Not expecting a sandwich though.
