THE MANDALORIAN Spinoff Reportedly Adds Jordan Bolger And Sophie Thatcher; Could Be A BOBA FETT Prequel

Lucasfilm has a lot of big plans for the Star Wars franchise on Disney+, with multiple projects rumoured to be in the works. Now, The Illuminerdi is reporting that the planned spinoff series for The Mandalorian is casting two supporting characters.

The first is "Skad," an 18 - 24-year-old male. He's described as "British, edgy, fit, and resilient. A faithful member of a street crew, Skad is willing to question authority." Peaky Blinders and The 100 actor Jordan Bolger has been offered the role, though it's unclear whether he is going to take it (if not, it's open to all ethnicities).

The second character is "Drash," and she's in that same age group. This character is described as "British, cool, self-assured, and in need of refinement. A faithful member of a street crew, Drash is willing to question authority."

In this case, an offer has gone out to The Exorcist and Chicago Med actress Sophie Thatcher.

The Direct, meanwhile, also reports the news about Bolger and claims that, "this series will involve Boba Fett and will be set before the main events of The Mandalorian."

This is certainly interesting, and if accurate, the spinoff will presumably explain what happened to Boba Fett in the years following Return of the Jedi. There's definitely a story to be told there, though we're obviously still hoping that the bounty hunter will make his presence felt in The Mandalorian again.

In the opening few minutes of the episode, The Child proves himself to be a hilariously unreliable mechanic for the Razor Crest. Despite receiving instructions from Din Djarin, it seems the adorable little creature finds choosing between the red and blue wire just that little bit too complicated.

The return of Greef Karga (Carl Weathers) and Cara Dune (Gina Carano) has been long anticipated by fans of The Mandalorian, and they made a big impact in this latest episode. Whether they'll return again during season two remains to be seen, but there's clearly more story to tell with both characters.

As Greef Karga and Cara Dune explain (with the Mythrol from season one watching on), there's one last settlement of Imperials on Nevarro, and they're going to need Din Djarin's help to get rid of them. Of course, what none of them realise is that the base is heavily fortified and full of Stormtroopers.

The action scenes in "The Siege" were phenomenal, and director Carl Weathers has proven that he's an ideal fit for this Galaxy Far, Far Away. These three certainly make for a formidable team, though the Mythrol didn't exactly help much (he was an entertaining presence throughout, though).

Seeing TIE Fighters and speeder bikes in action is always a treat, and these guys managed to put up quite the fight (even if a couple of their friends inadvertently blew themselves up). Greef Karga and Cara Dune did a great job holding them off, but ultimately it was the Razor Crest that saved the day.

If it's in the same level as Mandalorian, then bring it on. I just hope he has his armour in this prequel.

@Urubrodi - I like Boba Fett's armor and I like him in the original trilogy, but I think I'm going to like this new stage of the character more. the man under armor and we are going to discover many traits of his personality.

I'm tempted to say we don't need another show about a (familiar) Mandalorian, but I also said we didn't need familiar characters in The Mandalorian. And that has worked out well so far too.

I'm kinda hoping this show is set before A New Hope. I just want a show focused on the crime syndicates during the height of the Empire, and having Boba as lead could work now that I think of it

I hope that Darth Bane show was not just a rumor. Nothing against Boba Fett, quite the opposite, but Star Wars needs new characters and stories that we are not familiar with as well. Plus, I do hope that we can have some story where an alien is the main character, like at least for once. Humans don't need to be the protagonist all the time.

Eh, this sounds terrible. He doesn't have his armor, the only good thing about Boba Fett. Setting it before Mando makes no sense
