Another Sunday night, another crazy awesome blood-spattered Ash vs Evil Dead episode! "Twist and Shout" saw Ash and Brandy concoct a plan to expose Ruby for the demon she really is. However, things do not go as planned when Ruby releases her demon spawn, a grown up evil Ash, upon Brandy's high school. Demon Ash paints the school red as he makes his way to the dance floor and begins chainsawing Brandy's fellow classmates in a scene that would make Carrie jealous.

With all the carnage, Ruby has finally succeeded in turning Brandy against Ash, who is led to believe that her real father is a demon. The real Ash shows up and tries to explain to Brandy that it was not him, only for Ruby to throw herself onto Ash's chainsaw, "dying" in front of Brandy and covering the other students in blood.  Though Brandy has the Kandarian dagger, she cannot bring herself to kill her father and drops the dagger at Ruby's lifeless body.

Pablo on the otherhand learns about Kelly's fate when she visits him from the Deadlands and rushes to the school, where he confronts Kaya in Kelly's body. He then runs into Ash but quickly realizes he is the demon spawn; the two begin fighting and this brawl spills over onto the dance floor, where the real Ash quickly dispatches his evil twin with a couple shotgun blasts to the head.

With her demon spawn dead, Ruby rises, furious that Ash destroyed her plans that were years in the making. Brandy now realizes her father was correct the entire time. As Ash makes his way forward, Ruby throws the dagger towards him, only for Brandy to shield her dad and take the blade in the back, where she dies in her father's hands. As Ash holds her body, Brandy wakes up in the Deadlands and quickly begins to fear the reaper in a scene that can only be described as the show going full on Stranger Things!

Next week, Ash will need Pablo to use the Kandarian dagger to send him through the rift so he can rescue Brandy and Kelly from the Deadlands. It is here in the upside down where Ash will receive some help from Dalton as they try to evade the evil dead. Watch the new promo for episode 8, titled "Rifting Apart," and check out two promotional images for next week's episode, below.

"Rifting Apart" -  Ash and Pablo realize the rift in the cellar is the key to saving humanity and devise a plan to save the ones they love. The episode was written by Bryan Edward Hill and directed by Mark Beesley, who directed tonight's episode.

Starring: Bruce Campbell as Ash Williams, Ray Santiago as Pablo Simon Bolivar, Dana DeLorenzo as Kelly Maxwell, Lucy Lawless as Ruby Knowby, Arielle Carver-O'Neill as Brandy Barr, and Lindsay Farris as Dalton.

Also be sure to check out another inside look into the world of Ash vs Evil Dead with executive producer Rob Tapert as he shares how the Kelly vs Ruby fight and The Thing-like creature came together on screen in last week's episode, "Tales From The Rift."

My only criticism this episode was NOT ENOUGH GORE. I wanted those teenagers totally [frick]ed up

@SupermansTrunks - Haha, idk buddy, there was a lot of gore. Of course they could always do more gore, but they showed a good amount already. And I'd say those teens were totally [frick]ed up...

Ppl that enjoy watching this messy ungodly gore are disturbing more reason to ban guns
HeavyMetal4Life
HeavyMetal4Life - 4/8/2018, 9:34 PM
@JK2point0 - this has nothing to do with gun violence. Especially when a chainsaw is used more often than a gun. You clearly have no idea what you're talking about.

@HeavyMetal4Life - I wanna start a new show. Should I start this or SHIELD? You must choose!

@Nebula - haha, you're asking me about my 2 favorite shows currently on television!!!! Very tough. My question would be this: are you a horror fan? Have you seen the original evil dead films?
Nebula
Nebula - 4/8/2018, 11:41 PM
@HeavyMetal4Life - I knew it'd be tough for ya. 😂
Yep, I've seen the original films and I like horror, but I also like the MCU and have seen all of those films.

Muhahaha. You must choose!

HeavyMetal4Life - 4/8/2018, 11:51 PM
@Nebula - haha you know what's funny is like 15 minutes ago I was thinking to myself, if I was stranded on an island, what three or five shows would I want to have. And of course, SHIELD and Ash v Evil Dead were on the list. So yes, very tough!!

At this point, holding off a little longer with SHIELD doesn't hurt, since you haven't been following it. SHIELD is my favorite show on tv currently and second favorite show ever, but id say choose Ash. Plus, it has fewer episodes in each season, fewer seasons, and the episodes are only half an hour long.

And the great times start immediately. It's such a fantastic show, and just a heads up, it's pretty much unrated. They hold nothing back... So be prepared for the show to push the boundaries of what you can see on tv, in all the right ways! Also, if it's been a while since you've seen Evil Dead 2 and Army of Darkness, might be worth giving those a rewatch before starting the show.
