Here's some good news in this exceedingly trying time, as TNT announced yesterday that, due to the coronavirus pandemic, they have decided to move up the premiere date for their upcoming post-apocalyptic thriller series Snowpiercer, which is based on the graphic novel series and acclaimed film of the same name from 3x Academy Award-winner Bong Joon-ho (Parasite).

The series will now debut two weeks earlier on Sunday, May 17 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT.

According to the press release, production had already wrapped on the first season, so fans will be able to enjoy the full ten-episode season through the summer. Production was also almost complete on season two, but those episodes will likely be held until 2021, barring any unforeseen changes.

Graeme Manson (Orphan Black) will serve as showrunner with Bong Joon-ho (Parasite) and Scott Derrickson (Doctor Strange) attached as executive producers. James Hawes (Black Mirror) is directing the pilot with a script from Manson and Josh Friedman (War of the WorldsTerminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles).

Snowpiercer stars Academy Award-winner Jennifer Connelly (Top Gun: MaverickSpider-Man: Homecoming), Grammy and Tony Award-winner Daveed Diggs (Hamilton, Black-ish), Primetime Emmy-nominee Alison Wright (The Americans), Mickey Sumner (Frances Ha, Battle of the Sexes), Susan Park (Ghostbusters), Iddo Goldberg (Peaky Blinders, The Zookeeper's Wife), Katie McGuinness (Dirty Filthy Love), Tony Award-winner and Grammy-nominee Lena Hall (Hedwig and the Angry Inch), Annalise Basso (Bedtime Stories), Sam Otto (Jellyfish), Roberto Urbina (Narcos), Sheila Vand (Argo) and Jaylin Fletcher (Saturday Church).

Set more than seven years after the world has become a frozen wasteland, Snowpiercer centers on the remnants of humanity who inhabit a perpetually moving train, with 1001 cars, that circles the globe. Class warfare, social injustice and the politics of survival play out in this riveting television adaptation based on the graphic novel series and film from Oscar® winner Bong Joon Ho (Parasite). The series was renewed for a season two prior to season one airing. Production on season one wrapped and season two production is nearly completed.

I don’t know if this was buried somewhere on the site, but a writer was hired to pen Ant-Man 3:

Liked the book, liked the movie, like the idea of something moving up instead of being delayed.

Why do they keep trying to push this concept? The movie kinda sucked, and this doesn't look any more interesting.

Finally some what good news. In theory this could help the show, because with everyone staying home and looking for something to watch, they might just watch this.
