Like its predecessor, Venom: Let There Be Carnage has been overperforming at the box office, and has now passed the $400 million mark worldwide.
The Sony Pictures sequel currently sits at $191.6 million in the U.S., and along with its $212.5 million international cume, the movie has amassed $404.1M in global takings. This is an especially impressive feat considering we are still technically in the "Pandemic Era," and the film has yet to secure a China release date.
Let There Be Carnage was a theatrical exclusive, and didn't debut day-and-date on a streaming service like many of the major studio movies that released around the same time. This no doubt gave it an advantage, but it's also worth noting that the Tom Hardy-starrer proved to be almost as divisive as the first Venom among critics.
The studio is sure to be pleased with this result, and it seems likely one of the untitled Sony/Marvel movies that was recently dated is either a direct threequel or spinoff. Let There Be Carnage's post-credits scene finally teased a meeting between Eddie/Venom and Tom Holland's Spider-Man, so it would be very surprising if this highly-anticipated crossover didn't happen down the line.
