Neither Venom movie was particularly well-received by critics, but they both made a lot of money at the box office, so a third outing for Eddie Brock and his savage symbiote was officially greenlit last year.
Now, star Tom Hardy has announced that pre-production is underway with a new Instagram post.
The video gives us a look at a deleted scene from the first movie, which shows Brock getting out of a taxi and attempting to make his way into the hospital while Venom argues and tries to take control of his body.
Eddie finally manages to convince his alien passenger to enter the building by telling him that Annie is in there.

Venom 3 will be directed by Kelly Marcel, who was a writer/producer on the first two movies. Plot details are virtually non-existent, but Hardy previously shared an Instagram post teasing Eddie Brock's "last ride," which would seem to suggest that this is will be the actor's final time in the role.
Surely that means a face-off with Spider-Man is on the cards... right?
Eddie/Venom did appear in one of Spider-Man: No Way Home's post-credits scenes, with a piece of the symbiote remaining behind in The MCU when Brock was zapped back to his own universe. This led to speculation that a confrontation might be imminent, but it's best not to draw any conclusions when it comes to Sony's "SPUMC!"
Let There Be Carnage ended with Cletus Kasady's (Woody Harrelson) apparent death (though that doesn't mean Carnage won't return), and Detective Pat Mulligan (Stephen Graham) seemingly being taken over by another alien symbiote, possibly setting up the debut of Toxin in this third movie.
