VENOM: LET THERE BE CARNAGE "Honest Trailer" Takes A Few Funny Digs At Sony Pictures' Sequel

Screen Junkies has released a new "Honest Trailer," and this take-down of Sony Pictures' recent sequel, Venom: Let There Be Carnage, surprises by actually being pretty funny! Check it out...

"From the company that can't make their own Spider-Man movie, or streaming service, or enough PS5s, comes the one thing Sony can still deliver: A top-notch gay-lien rom-com."

Sony Pictures' recent Venom sequel, Let There Be Carnage, proved to be just as big a hit (well, taking the pandemic into account) as its predecessor, but even though it did receive slightly better reviews, critics seemed to be divided (it currently sits at 58% on Rotten Tomatoes).

This latest "Honest Trailer" pokes fun at various aspects of the movie, including the slightly dodgy American accents from the predominantly British cast, the less than stellar CGI, Eddie and Venom's somewhat bizarre relationship, and more. It's all in good fun, and this latest effort is notable for actually being pretty funny!

Let There Be Carnage has performed very well at the box office (it recently passed the $200 million mark domestically), so we're expecting Sony Pictures to officially announce a third movie soon. Whether a potential threequel would finally pit Venom against Spider-Man (Tom Holland) remains to be seen, but this movie's post-credit scene certainly seemed to be teasing the possibility.

He summed it up perfectly at the end. This movie knew what it wanted to be, and it accomplished that. I was thoroughly entertained and will be there for the third one.

That movie was something. I got a few laughs out of this honest trailer definitely more laughs than I got from venom 2. Pretty easily the worst movie I seen this year

First one was fine. It was enjoyable and campy. It accomplished bringing Venon to the big screen. Second one was not fine but it had some enjoyable moments. It wasnt a good movie and had many many issues. They made this movie with ill intent. It was a blatent cash grab and had no intention of making a good story but trying to repeat the success of the first one. Hopefully they figure out how to make a good Venom movie. But where do they go from here? Carnage could have been the big bad of the 3rd film. Who is worse than Carnage? Maybe Knull?

Sequel was just too goddamn dumb. I enjoyed the first for “dumb fun” but this sequel just took things to the next level of stupidity. I don’t need to Venom going to some trance bullshit and I don’t wanna see Carnage hacking mainframes lol

I don't know how these movies keep getting away with it. Even the people that give it a pass literally say that they shouldn't be giving it a pass, lmao.

I swear there's some protection spell cast over both movies.

@Kurne - That protection spell is called Tom Hardy. The people you mention who give it a pass knowing they shouldn't are these [frick]ing Film Twitter zombies who think Tom Hardy can do absolutely no wrong. They worship the ground he walks on and treat him like the reincarnation of Jesus. And because of that, they'll praise literally anything he does no matter how objectively awful it is. He could literally film himself bludgeoning a puppy to death with a rock while simultaneously setting a baby on fire, and people would call it the greatest thing since sliced bread. It's a prime example of "the emperor has no clothes."

The movie is fine until the last like 10 minutes, just really dumb fun until it crosses the stupid barrier with Carnage climbing the tower for no reason.
It really losses the plot with how it portrays the Venom-Eddie relationship, it's toxic, abusive and manipulative as hell for the first hour and them breaking up was warranted, but then they are thrown back together and try to sell it like are good together and made for each other in the 3rd act. That's just nasty

think its time to admit that Venom will be better in a joint / team up movie going forward. Venom / Hardy working along side an Andrew Garfield Spider-Man perhaps? Venom / Hardy will quickly have a sell by date and even now in only the second movie it seems a bit "been there, seen that" with their interactions.
