Decent but, Ermac has no resemblances or homages to the game counter part. Tancharoen is still completely wrong for the reboot.

YES! I Can't wait, I loved the first part truly. A great new reimagining of Mortal Kombat is what we need. It looks like an awesome indie project well done yet again. Haters gonna hate. Not all video game adaptations can be perfect, but this borderlines near perfect.

Looks like a lot of story, and Mortal Kombat has a pretty bad story. But hey, might be worth a watch.

Mortal Kombat original games plots are pretty much a B movie style, so we should never expect a great story from a live action thing based on MK. Looks fun though

This should've ended a long time ago. The one source of material they choose to ground and make realistic is the one that has realms, supernatural forces and magical forces as well as so many other fictitious elements. All to just have the dam title of MK on your project.

There has never been one consistent storyline in all of the MK mythos. Just ridiculousness and kicks.

I can't hate on Kevin Tancharoen I loved the first series and before that came along there was no talks of a movie or tv series the guy brought it back in a good way considering the budget he had. People can say he's not right for the role but the dude has some passion and so far it's going in the right direction.

Also some people need to learn what grounded or realistic mean because those words get thrown around a lot for the wrong things -_-

man i wanna like this series. i do like this series. i watched the first season a ton of times. and i think the guys that make these are good story tellers. but i'm my humble opinion i think MK deserves better. it's too cheap looking, it looks worse than that fail of a street fighter movie. i feel like this trailer is a huge departure from that very first online short with jax and sonja and scorpion. it looks too much like a generic kung fu b-movie with all of the poses and choreography. i feel like they totally abandoned the world they created in that first short and just went full on MK without having the right budget and/or using their budget wisely or just not being the right people to pull that off. too many cheap special effects.

Pros:
Jai White as Jax
Ian Anthony Dale as Scorpion
Sektor and Cyrax episode.
Scorpion and Sub-Zero double episode.
Guy the cast as Kano
Guy they cast johnny cage.
Ray Park as Quan Chi (saywhaaaat!!)
kung lao looks pretty dope.

Cons:
Animated katana episode.
Emo liu kang in black hoodie (c'mon..)
Cheesey special effects
Raiden episode aka mortal kombat flew over the cuckoos nest.

edit of my previous comment: i meant this trailer, specifically, looks worse than the street fighter chun li. i thought the first season was well balanced and "indie" enough to pull off the look that it had.

Mortal Kombat having a bad story? Not having a great story? Umm... Where was I when this became true? Cause as far as I am concerned, it has the best story, characters and mythology in games. Yet, it's so over the top but I never felt it being over the top. Take away the massive amounts of blood and gore and you get a cleaner version of Tekken, Street Fighter, ect. Just better gameplay (leagues better), better graphics, cooler and more interesting characters as well as an actual story. It has potential to spawn a great live action film trilogy.

Video games are just hard to adapt and Tancharoen hasn't proved himself. His remake of Fame sucked balls and Mortal Kombat: Rebirth (whether as a pitch or not) is a disgrace and shits on everything that makes MK so amazing. He slightly redeemed himself with season 1 of Legacy but, mispronunciations and Ermac in season 2 having no relation to his game counterparts really ruined me having any faith that he's the guy they needed for the Mortal Kombat reboot.

Season 1 was great thought it changed some source material it still worked really well... This season honestly looks decent but is deviating so much from its roots its ridiculous.

Cons just from the trailer:

Sub Zero's costume looks cheap and plastic like.

They recast Johnny Cage (the guy from the first season nailed it)

They have Mark Dacascos playing Kung Lao which is unfortunate cause he can't act to save his life.

Finally Ermac and Kenshi are just randomly thrown in there all because they were added to latest Mortal Kombat.

I mean I'm gonna give this a shot cause parts look interesting but overall I am more pumped for Street Fighter Assassin's Fist!

Liu Kang is completely out of character, but otherwise I like where they're going with this.
