In January, Mortal Kombat fansite TRMK posted a casting notice for the new web series, revealing some of the characters that would be involved. The casting notice included descriptions for Bo' Rai' Cho, Dvorah, Scorpion (Hanzo Hasashi), Takeda, Salazar, Kung Jin, & Ron Tan' Cho.

Another casting list confirmed Casper Van Dien returning as Johnny Cage, Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa is back Shang Tsung, Jade Quon/Jamal Duff as Ferra/Torr, and Morgan Sticke as a five year old Cassie Cage. And while we don't know who will be playing the role, stuntwoman Crystal Michelle will be performing stunts for Jacqui Briggs.

IMDB now has the series listed as Mortal Kombat X: Generations.  According to the site, Ron Yaun will be playing Hanzo, Booboo Stewart is Takeda, and Lewis Tan will be playing Kung Jin. Tan shared a behind the scenes picture on Instagram, a few months ago.

But there's more! IMDB also lists Ray Park as Erron Black, and Haley Lu Richardson as adult Cassie Cage as well as episode titles. Episode 3 is "The Cursed Woods", episode 4 is "Mission Fatigue" and episode 5 is titled, "Fork in the Road".

Mortal Kombat co-creator Ed Boon also tweeted this picture in January of Van Dien on set.

Is he talking to Sonya Blade? And on the far left, is that Cassie and Takeda in the background? Arrow actress Caity Lotz is rumored to be playing Sonya but one would think she'd be too young for the role.

With Mortal Kombat X now on store shelves, it's a surprise the web series hasn't already been released but it shouldn't be far behind. Are you excited for this new installment or did your kombo break with Legacy I and II? Let us know in the comments.

Give me a big budget Kombat movie.

That's all I want.

A well made one.

I love the series and this casting is actually pretty good (except for Hanzo's)

I love the new generation of Kombatants

Wait so Scorpion ISN'T going to be played by Ian Anthony Dale?! Weird, he was the only one saved from Mortal Kombat:Rebirth to both season of Legacy I think.

Great to see them do the next generation of fighters. And of course Takeda is the most badass character in MKX.

Shocked they aren't getting Jonny Yong Bosch back for Kung Jin - he has acting and stunt experience, what with being a former Power Ranger and all.
