UNCHARTED Poster Finds Tom Holland's Nathan Drake Clinging On For Dear Life

Sony Pictures has debuted a new one-sheet for the upcoming Uncharted movie, and this latest promo poster for the video game adaptation finds Tom Holland's Nathan Drake in a very precarious position.

Uncharted is set to hit theaters in just a few week's time, and Sony Pictures has now debuted a new poster featuring Spider-Man: No Way Home star Tom Holland as Nathan Drake.

This one-sheet is inspired by a sequence that's been heavily featured in the trailers, as Drake is sent tumbling from an aeroplane after being hit by a car and must climb his way back over the cargo. It looks like a rather silly set piece, to be honest, but it is straight out of the video games.

Fans seem to be a bit mixed on everything we've seen from this movie so far, but it does appear to have captured at least some of the adventurous spirit of the games, if not quite enough of their sharp wit.

"Street-smart thief Nathan Drake is recruited by seasoned treasure hunter Victor "Sully" Sullivan to recover a fortune lost by Ferdinand Magellan 500 years ago," reads the latest synopsis. "What starts as a heist job for the duo becomes a globe-trotting, white-knuckle race to reach the prize before the ruthless Moncada, who believes he and his family are the rightful heirs. If Nate and Sully can decipher the clues and solve one of the world’s oldest mysteries, they stand to find $5 billion in treasure and perhaps even Nate’s long-lost brother...but only if they can learn to work together."

Sony's adaptation will be set before the events of the first game and serve as an origin story for the beloved character, as Drake embarks on his first globe-trotting adventure alongside his treasure-hunting partner (and soon-to-be mentor) Victor "Sully" Sullivan (Mark Wahlberg).

Travis Knight, Dan Trachtenberg, Shawn Levy, Seth Gordon, Neil Burger and David O. Russell were all attached to helm Uncharted at one time or another, before Venom's Ruben Fleischer was finally confirmed as director back in 2020.

Uncharted will also star Antonio Banderas, Sophia Ali and Tati Gabrielle. The movie is (currently) set to hit theaters on February 18, 2022.

This poster is a great showcase of the importance of composition and scope, because I can't tell if he's 2 feet or 200 feet off of the ground

What a shitty poster. I don't get Sony, how could they screw up so bad with the movie adaptation of the game they have published? Don't they have any concern for the Uncharted brand? I haven't seen a single fan being positive about this.

These games are so great (except for a few plot issues where they dropped the ball), and Tom Holland is awesome, but he's not Nate Drake. Should've been Nathan Fillion, even as old as he is now. But the games are already so rich in story-telling that a movie seems unnecessary. Why not just make more games?

When the slack tightens on that line connecting those supply crates, the resulting jolt is gonna violently rip Nathan's arm from its socket.

I just imagine Tom posing for this, just standing up against a wall...

This poster and all the trailers: "We stole our most memorable action scene from the games."
