With Walt Disney Studios and 20th Century Studios moving Kenneth Branagh's Death on the Nile to February 2022, Sony Pictures has decided to push their upcoming video game movie adaptation Uncharted back one week to February 18.

The Ruben Fleischer-directed film will now open opposite the Michael Bay actioner Ambulance, Paramount Animation's Rumble, and Paramount's Luck, although it's possible that at least one or two of those films will end up moving. It will also open two weeks before Matt Reeves' highly-anticipated The Batman, which will star Robert Pattinson (Tenet; The Devil All the Time) in the lead role.

Uncharted stars Tom Holland (Spider-Man: Far From Home; Avengers: Endgame) in the lead role as ace adventurer Nathan Drake with a supporting cast consisting of 2x Academy Award-nominee Mark Wahlberg (The Departed; The Fighter) as Sully Sullivan, Sophia Taylor Ali (Grey's AnatomyTruth or Dare) as Chloe Frazer, Tati Gabrielle (Chilling Adventures of SabrinaYou) as Braddock, and Academy Award-nominee Antonio Banderas (The Mask of ZorroDesperado) as the primary antagonist.

Filming wrapped last October, so the movie is already deep into post-production and may actually be nearing completion. No word yet on any potential reshoots, but the extended delay does leave the door open for some additional photography, although Holland is expected to take a much-needed vacation after recently wrapping Sony & Marvel Studios' Spider-Man 3.

R.I.P Uncharted. This movie doesn't stand a chance against Batman.

Unless it makes big money in those 2 weeks, this is going to get its ass spanked

They moved it because the NFL moved the Super Bowl to that weekend. Most studios don't put out stuff that competes with that demo

I very much enjoyed the games, but I don't really intent to give this a watch as soon as it comes out. Rather just wait a couple of weeks and watch The Batman instead.
