VIDEO GAMES: Playstation Delays Naughty Dog's UNCHARTED 4: A THIEF'S END To April

The wait for Naughty Dog's Uncharted 4: A Thief's End just got a little bit longer. Earlier this week, Playstation announced that they've delayed Nathan Drake's next adventure about a month to late April.

For those of you that were planning on picking up Uncharted 4: A Thief's End on March 18 and then playing non-stop for a week until the release of Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice... you may want to recalibrate your plans just a bit.

Playstation & Naughty Dog announced Wednesday that Nathan Drake's highly anticipated next adventure won't hit stores until April 26, 2016, which is coincidentally a week ahead of the arrival of Captain America: Civil War, so the game would probably be a great way to spend your week as you wait to see Cap & Iron Man go at it on May 6.

In a joint-statement from creative director Neil Druckmann & game director Bruce Stanley, they explain their reasoning behind pushing the game back:

This is our largest Uncharted game to date, and the team has been working incredibly hard to meet the challenge of closing out the game’s development in a timely manner. However, as we approached our final deadlines and started wrapping up the game’s levels, we realized that several key sequences needed extra resources to bring them to the finish line. After carefully considering all of our options, we decided to extend our schedule, making sure that we get a few more polish passes before submitting our gold master (the final disc for manufacturing).

So, what do you guys think? Excited? Sound off with your thoughts below!

Set three years after the events of UNCHARTED 3: Drake’s Deception, Nathan Drake has presumably left the world of fortune hunting behind. However, it doesn’t take long for adventure to come calling when Drake’s brother, Sam, resurfaces seeking his help to save his own life and offering an adventure Drake can’t resist.

On the hunt for Captain Henry Avery’s long-lost treasure, Sam and Drake set off to find Libertalia, the pirate utopia deep in the forests of Madagascar. UNCHARTED 4: A Thief’s End takes players on a journey around the globe, through jungle isles, urban cities and snow-capped peaks on the search for Avery’s fortune.

@superherodevourer

You sound retarded , you wont be protesting anything

You will just endup with a console that aint bout shit.

Uncharted needs to be the best game it can be , if that means a pushback then

So be it.

Rise of the Tomb Raider is coming to PS4 and PC next year. It was an Xbox timed exclusive because without their funding the game would never have happened.

And big games get postponed all the time, and this one is only by a month, so it's really no big deal.

Knew this would happen. Rather have a more polished game than a severely buggy and glitchy mess anyway.

This is true of ALL video games!!

From a business perspective, sure some folks will be upset a game is delayed. But, as you point out, if it's delayed to make sure the game is as best as possible upon being released, that is completely understandable. If not appreciated.

HOWEVER, folks will be far more upset if a game is not 100% complete upon release. And/or the game isn't the best it can possibly be until they release a few updates/patches.

That's largely the reason I've held off purchasing a PS4 just yet. I mean I really look forward to purchasing/playing AC: Syndicate & Arkham Knight. Unfortunately, there's not enough reasons yet for me to justify purchasing a PS4 for those two games & a few I'd be interested in playing. I'm perfectly content waiting for more games/features that are worth it to me. Not to mention, when I eventually purchase a PS4, it'll likely be a little cheaper. So, win-win-win. hahaha.

Plus, this interesting and informative breakdown by Kotaku about "The State of the PS4 in 2015" seems to support my decision in waiting to purchase a PS4:

And for anyone interested, here's their "The State of the XBox One in 2015":

(Kotaku did "The State Of" series which also includes PC Gaming & Wii U.)

And I can't not recommend again that Sebastian Stan play Nathan Drake in the Uncharted movie.

Don't make a film. Hollywood would just [frick] it up like all Video Game to film adaptations.
