In case you haven't already seen the amazing Logan, here are our top 5 reasons why you should go out and see the film ASAP!

Wolverine Unleashed!

Wolverine will no longer be held back by the PG-13 rating. Up to this point we really haven’t seen the ruthless Logan from the comics; however, X-Men First Class touched on the Logan we’ll see when he told Xavier and Magneto to F off. You can fully expect to see body parts flying left and right due to Logan and X-23’s adamantium claws. We were only able to see a glimpse of this in the red band trailers leading up to the film, but we are all dying to see more!

Hugh Jackman’s and Patrick Stewarts Last Hurrah

Both Jackman and Stewart have both said that this would be the last time that they suit up as Wolverine and Professor X. It’s crazy to think that we were first introduced to their characters 17 years ago. There is no doubt there have been highs and lows in films featuring these icons, but they’ve certainly gone out on a high note according to critics.

Set up for future movies

Rumors have been flying about how Logan possibly sets up the future of the franchise going forward. We will have to wait and see the movie to know exactly what direction the franchise will go, but we do know that you can fully expect X-23 to be a part of it. Director James Mangold has also firmly stated that the film is set in 2029, five years after the events of Days of Future Past, so that the plot wouldn’t interfere with the X-Men timeline.

New Mutants?

Yes, we get to see Wolverine and Professor X, but there is also a host of new mutants that are introduced in the movie. We will, of course, see X-23, but there's also Caliban, and according to IMDB’s cast list, we will also see other “unnamed” mutants. Will these children of the atom be a part of the franchises future?

Critic Reviews

The reviews are not always indicative of whether a film is good or not, but critical Logan's reaction certainly bodes well for movie-goers, as it currently sits at a whopping 93% on rotten tomatoes. This certainly feels like the Wolverine movie that we’ve all been waiting for.

About Logan:

In the near future, a weary Logan cares for an ailing Professor X in a hide out on the Mexican border. But Logan's attempts to hide from the world and his legacy are up-ended when a young mutant arrives, being pursued by dark forces.

I thought Days of Future Past was a more fitting sendoff to both characters because that truly summed up the journey, but Logan is still an excellent film. My 2nd favorite Xmen film.

@JH24 -
Indeed, matter of fact, THAT'S how i like to imagine Logan and Chuck spent their life, a happy life.
"Logan" is...in a different timeline for me.

*Mild spoilers*

Logan lowkey set up a nice Cable origin.

In the "Age of Apocalypse" world, he was known as Nate Grey, and he wasn't born so much as created, from the DNA of Jean and Scott Summers, in a lab, engineered to be an ultra-powerful telekinetic weapon... sound familiar?

When we see X-23's backstory, we learn that she's just one of the "X-23" program, seen here as an offshoot of Weapon X of sorts. In the program, they're using genetic material from all sorts of mutants to create new children with those powers, children they hope to raise and control, turning them into the perfect mutant weapons.

If we make Cable into one of the kids born of the X-23 program, we have a perfect tie-in to all of that. The adult Cable, wanting to help his friend Laura from when he was a kid, jumps to the future and pulls her back to the past, where she joins him, Deadpool, and the rest of their squad as the junior member of the team, and as their "Wolverine."

Actually i was thinking that after Logan, they could adapt the Messiah saga, and use Cable to bring Laura in the current timeline, she could be the messiah instead of Hope.
Logan ends with Laura still running from the Transigen, she still lives in a dark and twisted world, that little girl needs some hope dammit!

It is by far in the top 3 best of all time comic movies...on a side note I about died this morning looking at the prices for X-23 1-3rd appearance in NYX. I have mint 1st printings! I also have some Billy Tan signed X-23 from her 2005 first run! I love comics! All the second and third jobs I had to buy multiple comics and get them graded has really paid off over the last 20 years.

@Lostcause - By far in the top 3?? Does that mean there is a big gap between the third and fourth best CBMs? Is Logan number 3? What are the other two that are by far the best comic movies of all time?

I liked it in a vacuum, but as part of a series it really negated a lot of things I liked about DOFP and The Wolverine.

This was the best from the ENTIRE XMen franchise. I still feel like it's an offshoot universe and where it's not really connected. Hugh Jackman and Sir Patrick Stewart should honestly get nominated and I don't see any other cbm beating it story wise. Yes it was very different from the comics but so have plenty that we all love and adore so this is no different.
