X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST Plot Details, SDCC Plans & Secret Characters Revealed?

A new report seemingly reveals some intriguing plot details for X-Men: Days Of Future Past, as well as how the film will be represented at SDCC. Additionally, Peter Dinklage and Josh Helman's roles have apparently been confirmed.

We previously heard that Fox will be bringing X-Men: Days Of Future Past to San Diego Comic-Con on Saturday (along with The Wolverine and Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes), but other than announcing other X-titles, we weren't sure what else to expect. According to Vulture, over a dozen cast members from the superhero ensemble are heading to SDCCC, and will reveal new details at the panel. However, Vulture has found out many of these details, including which characters Peter Dinklage and Josh Helman are playing. As previously rumored, the former is Bolivar Trask, who in the comics created the Sentinel robots (that will most likely be featured in the film as well). And despite speculation that Helman is playing a young Cyclops, he is in fact portraying a young William Stryker; this character was previously in X2: X-Men United (played by Brian Cox) and X-Men Origins: Wolverine (Danny Huston).

Additionally, Vulture has uncovered new plot details for X-Men: Days Of Future Past. In the Bryan Singer-directed movie, Kitty Pryde (Ellen Page) "uses her powers to send Hugh Jackman's Wolverine back into the past, where he encounters the younger mutants played by James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, and Michael Fassbender. However, something bad happens to Kitty during the time-travel trance, and while Wolverine is still under her spell, the other X-Men must race to find a mutant who can siphon Kitty's powers and bring their friend back to the future." X-Men: Days Of Future Past stars James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Hugh Jackman, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Ellen Page, Halle Berry, Peter Dinklage, Anna Paquin and Shawn Ashmore. The film is set to hit theaters May 23rd, 2014.

Could that be the plot development that brings Anna Paquin's power-copying Rogue into the fold once again? = YES

WHERES MARSDEN! He better be returning as Cyclops in this, a solo Cyclops film or future x-men films! [frick] x3, this film will be able to "alter" the future (So [frick] xmen the last stand, [frick] leech, [frick] juggernaut, [frick] killing off Xavier an Cyclops and [frick] the cure!) Singer, give us a proper "X3" and a new future, a new hope for the x-men franchise! Singers x-men films were amazing and im pulling for the wolverine and DOFP!

Okay wait what the heck is going on here...if Helman is playing a young Stryker then part of the film would have to taken place before Origins since Danny Huston played him in that movie...and wasn't Bolivar Trask or at least a character referred to as Trask in X-Men 3 played by Bill Duke...and how does Kitty all of a sudden have time travel powers that was never mentioned in the previous films or established that her powers can in fact reach those levels, those things were never explained but they plan to somehow fit it in for one film and then...Wolverine is the only person who goes on this possibly important and dangerous life and death mission but somehow...something bad happens so they must find a mutant who can..help...but then the film is supposed to take place in the future, right from what I presume and...wait hold on....

This is pretty much a reboot of the series so it's likely we'll see other villians post Days of Future Past, X-FORCE will probably feature apocalypse and we got Sebastian Shaw in First Class aswell.

Weird, young Stryker in the 70's? Wasn't X-Men Origins Wolverine set in the 70's-80's? where stryker was 40-60 years old. That timeline is so [frick]ed up.

Well, on one hand, I'm glad Kitty IS going to be involved in more of the movie, including the time-travel stuff... but dammit, did they have to put her out of commission while they're in the past? I wanna see more of Ellen Page's Kitty Pryde, dammit!
