Marvel still has X-Men 3 on its list of movie projects with a May 3, 2006 release date but director Bryan Singer’s departure to work on the Superman film seems to have left everything up in the air.

According to an X Ultimate source: "the actors have not been approached about doing a third movie. There is no script for the movie, and Bryan's story idea for the third movie seems to have gone missing."

For his part, X2 composer John Ottman (a frequent choice of Singer) told Superhero Hype he’s anxious to be a part of the third film.
