Well it sucks that Sebastian Shaw and Emma Frost are dead, so they can't do a proper Dark Phoenix Saga, but Jason Stryker/Mastermind is still very much alive so who knows.

"He hails from a time when mutants were worshipped, not hunted and feared."

Perhaps the most interesting thing about the character I'm so looking forward to be explored. They've been saying all the right things on Apocalypse. Getting the X2 band back together is great

His mentions of how grounded and realistic Singer still sets to make this film has me mildly worried. After the inclusion of time travel, sentinels and even the Phoenix in this franchise what's to be realistic? I saw the concept art featuring the ship that seemed to have been approaching Apocalypse so that was very neat to see. I'm excited to see how eh handle that.

BUT

Michael claims that he and Dan only worked on the "story" and not the actual script so I'm prepared for Kinberg's up in the air outcome for dialogue and characterization. Kinberg isn't a bad writer but for the X-Men he's had a many hits and misses. Still hoping for the best but I was really hoping that Dan and Michael worked on the actual script. These are the guys who wanted Gambit, Beast and more in X2 if I'm correct. I just hope that their inclusion on this project pays off.

@TheOracularNerd

I think he's just stating that they are trying to make these fascinating things happen in this ordinary world. It should make things seem much more scaled up when shit goes down. The more I hear about the actual character of Apocalypse the more excited I get, I just hope he isn't a one and done villain.

"more relatable". EVERYTIME I hear this, ESPECIALLY about a character like Apocalypse, I get the heeby jeebies.

He only cares to kill and see who the strongest is. And therefore they survive.

DON'T fucck this up, FOX.

@Ryguy88

That's true, and in that nature I can easily understand where they're coming from.they said that this film is going to be a disaster film so that'll allow there to be even more usages of powers to help survive these drastic circumstances.

And yes! I strongly believe that Oscar Issac will deliver a very memorable performance as Apocalypse but I feel like as if his performance will be more verbally praised that physically. However there has been a few talks here and there that led to confirmations surrounding him battling the X-Men but I hope that they capture a physical force unlike any other that we've ever seen before.

Just looking at those pictures of "Arch"angel and I'm sitting here thinking just what the hell is Singer afraid of? (if this is even the guy's final look) after watching the cast commentary surrounding Days of Future Past there's no real clue of who these characters really are and just how huge their capacity is to be more than what we've seen this far. I'll endlessly applaud Singer for the drama within his X-Men films but culturally, action and costume wise there have been a few disappointments. I hate to be this critical towards a franchise that I've adored so much over the past but when you really look deep into not only the comics but the animated series as well you think about how much of a true goldmine they have on their hands.

It's reasons like this why I CAN NOT wait for the New Mutants director to do his thing, I have a feeling the guy is going to end up becoming the creative head of Fox's X-Men universe. His compassion for the characters bleeds from his sleeves (based on the old pictures and comics he has in his home)

@xcan

I hear you but I think they are just being careful not to make him a cliche "world domination just because" type of villain. I think they are just trying to make a whole character out of him and if they pull it off it could be pretty great!
Ryguy88
Ryguy88 - 9/11/2015, 4:17 PM
He also said in the interview here that Apocalypse is "literally a large character." I take that as he is going to be much bigger than 6 foot whatever for a portion of the movie.

If Singer wants to do some next level shit, he'll have a Cable cameo or post credit scene

Apocalypse and Cable go hand in hand

@Ryguy88 I fully expect greatness from this film so there's no worries there, and to be honest, Apocalypse's look isn't as important to me as his ideals.

I guess in short, what I DON'T want to see is him being someone like Ultron from Avengers 2 saying things like "please". Apocalypse, in no way should ever beg... or for that matter even ask. He just takes, and from we've seen, I don't know if we'll see that.

Here's a pic of him ready to smackdown the Avengers.

So I guess YoungThanos is still pretty cheesed about Sarcastibot Ultron.

@ryguy88 you know better. Youngthanos criticizing a MCU charcter is like @therealremylebeau finally getting that pool party invite from Singer after he's been lubing and pruning his man parts for decades in preparation of that glorious moment. Sadly, some things will never happen!

@3DWitchHunt if you're talking about baby Ultron, then yes, I don't want Apocalypse to have that treatment. I love Ultron. Sad to see what happened to him.

Whatever...I'm just ready to see something other than Xmen vs Magneto, Xmen vs William Stryker, Xmen vs homophobia/racism. I'm ready for Xmen vs 4 Horsemen and not the Ric Flair group but the Four Horsemen of Apocalypse! Woooo!

The last bit about young Jean Grey got me thinking... Maybe they're planning a film based solely on the Phoenix/Dark Phoenix saga! That would be awesome! Considering how poorly they handled that character in X3.
CaptainAmerica

Don't kill Apocalypse, save him for a sequel or future film. Introduce Mr Sinister in Gambit, make a huge X-Men crossover with Sinister and Apocalypse as the villains. Then bring in Kang or Galactus for a FF/X-Men crossover.

I'm not confident AT ALL in this movie. My expectations are so damn low for this movie I'm most likely going to come out of the theater saying 'not bad'....yeah probably not.

All I can say is, I hope to God the trailer slaps me in the face and says "you of little faith!!"

@PSDC14 Dude...no it's not. I'm not saying that AOU was better than any given X-movie, but DOFP took in $748m worldwide compared to AOU's $1.4 BILLION. AOU doubled DOFP's box office by more than 2x both domestically and internationally. Again, this doesn't speak to their critical acclaim, but there's no way that Apocalypse is going to "roll all over" AOU

Yup, you're definitely still cheesed :D

And just so ya know, I really liked Age of Ultron, I just like messing around with MCU fans who like to mess around with "foX-Men" fans. Isn't that what this is all about?....unless of course you're @TheRealRemyLebeau then this shit is more real than life!

@kakinurmawth

I like the story and characters in these movies but I'm hoping they amp up the action and spectacle in this one. There really should have been a sequence in DOFP where the past Sentinels actually fought the X-Men while being controlled by Trask. I thought it was a really good movie but there were some missed opportunities.
