First Class filming in London this Weekend Past!

Not much to see yet, but here's the pic that I took...

Just a little bit of news to share that X-Men: First Class was filming over the weekend in the old Kingsway Tram Station in the Holborn area of London.

There wasn't much to see from the outside, other than a dopey looking security guard reading, you can see images of how it appears inside here:
http://www.transportheritage.com/find-heritage-locations.html?sobi2Task=sobi2Details&catid=5&sobi2Id=627

This is a massive underground area that leads to the dissused Aldwych Tube Station, unfortunately there is no public access, although it is often used as a filming location. (V for Vendetta and one of the Bond films were partially shot here I believe?)

As with all of these tid-bits I can't reveal my source, although interestingly the production details were listed as "X-men 4"...go figure?

This doesn't even look like set,, Where is the convoy camera, lighting, generator trucks??? Looks to me like a security guard sat at a gate who could be minding movie props etc... I would not get to excited over this.

If this movie turns out as bad as it's choice of characters...I think Singer & Vaughn should be hanged by their testicles with piano wire!!

Well if they're using the disused tube station looks like some of it maybe set in London?

Perhaps during WWII - Could be a reference to a young Magneto escaping Germany?? The tube stations were used as shelter from the Blitz during that time.

Or are we in the swinging 60's?? Did Prof X and Magneto go to Oxford or something in their late teens - early 20's??

well if angel salvador is in this beak had better be this time. i also want to see glob herman, chamber, husk, anole, rockslide, mammomax, sinister, apocalypse, and some humans useing sentinels to hunt mutants. maybe the tunnels are were mutants that look strange are hiding or traveling because they look so different? also john sublime would be a cool human villain to see. i mean a man that envies mutants abilities who takes them from them. all of these characters and ideas would fit in good with a darker x-men film, and stories. as i was saying beak had better be in the film.and then they should make x-men 4 and bring back the original group gambit colossus, iceman, angel, nightcrawler, beast, cyclops, rogue, storm, and add a few new ones like beak and angel salvadors son tito bohusk aka beak 2.

tankgirl@ They can call it a prequel all they want, but no matter how they try to spin it, it is going to be a reboot. By the time the next film comes out, they will be reusing these actors and adding new ones. We won't see the old X-Men cast anymore and no matter how you look at it, that spells...REBOOT.

CaptainAmerica - 9/6/2010, 11:32 AM
@ The 2 [frick] shits above me, it's not a reboot you [frick]ing idiots, it's a prequel.

The reason this movie is gonna phuck up My world at least is because it further pushes the continuity away from the Original X-Men continuity

And I just spent four months writing X-4 & X-5 to salvage as much continuity as possible.

And I could've written them an X-Prequel that would have made fans happy.

I guess it's too late. Unless all the Pakistanis in London heard My call for a Jihad on this movie...

Then I might have a chance

=)

And as per reboot vs prequel

If it was a reboot then they would have made fans happy by giving the Scott, Bobby, Jean , Hank & Warren line up that EVERYONE knows is the actual original X-Men

The Hellfire Club did not enter the X-Men cannon until the Dark Phoenix Saga

Which coincidentally, Fox already phucked up.

So go figure.

@ superkalbatrormachinekiller

do you have insult,tankgirl.

@ movietheaterlad

i like your alternative earth poster.

if you want to see a decent matthew vaughn comic book movie, check out kick ass on blu-ray.

its f*cking awesome.

as for x-men first class, fox you had a chance to sort out the x-universe that you f*cked completely up.

& once again you dropped the ball,so don't bother making wolverine 2 or deadpool, give the rights back to marvel studios & let them show you how to make a decent x-men movie.

if you have ever read an x-men comic don't bother seeing this movie,if you have no knowledge of the x-men universe apart from the movies.....you will probably love this movie.

MTL and others@ Keep drinking the koolaid. If they completely recast this one, keep pretty much this same cast and the continuation movies that follow the First Class storyline don't pick up after X3, it is a reboot, no matter how you try to justify it as a prequel. They may throw in a few tie-ins to the first 3 Xmen, but if you honestly believe this is a one shot movie and they are going to pick up where they left off before, I don't buy it. The story and settings already sound different than the predecessors, especially with the characters they are leaving out. It will have the story of Magneto and Xavier and that is about the only prequel tie-in one can make at this point. If it walks like a duck...quacks like a duck....it is a reboot. ;-) Face it, they are starting it over again. Calling a prequel is just trying to appease some of the fanboys and girls out there.

Captain America@ Calling people names is quite mature and does nothing but undermine your credibility.

If you can't make an intelligent argument and call people names, like you do often around here...it certainly does. ;-)

MTL: That picture cracks me up. But, question, why is the X-film universe called "10005"? Just curious.

It does appear to be a big mess and this is very dissapointing. The original team apparently can't be used, Havok(Cyclops kid brother) is a student at Xavier's before he is, what the hell? I don't know if I wanna see this film. The comicbook fan in me is even saying BULLSHIT to all these changes.
Batmanknight
Batmanknight - 9/6/2010, 2:16 PM
I'm not too excited about this movie. I thought they had a good concept but are executing it poorly with poor choices of characters. The beginning relationship of Magneto and Professor X would be cool to see but it looks like they're doing it the wrong way. But hopefully I'm wrong and it becomes something really cool.

By the way guys if you get the chance check out my Batman story by clicking the pic below

@hulkbuster1982...

rather than dismiss the news, if you had read the article and link you would realise the set and filming are tsking place INSIDE the underground area that is a disussed station...that is why there are no cameras visible...

I.m not bitching..... looking forward too the movie..... too every cb-movie.... I think most of us do, we just don't agree with some choices in the movie.... otherwise we won't have nothing to talk , agree, disagree, or bitch about.....;-) lol

MTL@ The definition of a reboot is open to subjective opinion. It's not black and white. Sorry, I don't see reboot the same way you do. If they shut it down and start it over again, they start it over again. That is a reboot. We won't know for sure until we see what will happen with the next couple films after First Class, but I don't see them just doing a prequel film or two and being content with that. I don't buy the "tie-ins" you are claiming that make it a prequel. Only time will tell.
flames809
flames809 - 9/6/2010, 3:34 PM
ranger- actually they have said is a prequel. is a prequel because Xavier and magneto are young, beast is young, it will show how Xavier and magneto became enemy's that's why is a prequel
