X-Men: First Class Gets Its Own Giant Standee In Theaters!

After Ror revealed that giant Mjolnir standee yesterday, it looks like Marvel Studios are not the only ones to be promoting their next CBM with an oversized cardboard cut out! Check it out...

Unfortunately, the following image (which I dicovered on Twitter) was clearly taken on a cell phone as the size and quality are not the best. However, I think you get the general idea!

X-Men: First Class charts the epic beginning of the X-Men saga, and reveals a secret history of famous global events. Before mutants had revealed themselves to the world, and before Charles Xavier and Erik Lehnsherr took the names Professor X and Magneto, they were two young men discovering their powers for the first time. Not archenemies, they were instead at first the closest of friends, working together with other Mutants (some familiar, some new), to stop Armageddon. In the process, a grave rift between them opened, which began the eternal war between Magneto's Brotherhood and Professor X's X-Men.

Pretty cool, huh? X-Men: First Class is set to be released on June 3, later this year!

This I have no problem with, because it represents the purity of the original first class. Not really the one you get, but this cardboard X-men sign in itself is without flaw.

OH MY GOD!!!! i don't give a flying fuc.k! wow...a stupid x...the promotional campaign for this film is a joke...can you imagine if this were the REAL FIRST CLASS?! we would have a giant standee of Cyclops or Iceman like the Silver Surfer one that came out for "Rise of the silver surfer" instead we get a lame ass X.

The asses at Fox didn't have any characters that were visually stimulating. THERE ORIGINAL STANDEE WAS OF XAIVIER...he was just standing there, looking like a plain white dude and then some Fox executive said "this won't work"

Where the hell is movietheaterfag and dfreash to bash us and say how revolutionary and brilliant this standee is?!

Sorry I'm late fullmetal. You're all douchebags and this thing is majestic. I kid. But you have me all wrong. I don't say how amazing all the x-men stuff is, I just want to understand the basis or reasoning behind some claims I often hear on the site.

For instance, can anyone tell me what makes the hammer that much cooler than this? To be honest, the hammer isn't even a realistically detailed piece. Looks very basic/cartoonish, especially the handle. But both are simple symbols representing each respective movie in a grand way. A well done simple understated piece can be much better than an over the top gesture. A life sized Cyclops in a movie theater lobby would look retarded and childish.

I understand some people don't like the x-men franchise now and anything associated with it, and you are welcomed to have that thought. I just find it funny when that hatred allows you to come up with some pretty extreme and illogical criticisms for anything tied to the movie.

fullmetal, you actually made the claim that Fox doesn't know what they're doing because this movie isn't conducive to making desirable toys for kids. If that's your main priority in quality film making, then this is not the movie for you. Fox just had 2 movies nominated for Best Picture at the Oscars recently. I'm pretty sure they have a firm understanding of the movie making business. Marvel Studios has made a total of 3 movies. Ever. You can have your opinions, but let's pull back on some of the extreme (baseless) statements.
