RUMOR: Chris Evans Being Considered For Lead Role In The Bourne Legacy!

I'm not sure about you guys, but a Bourne movie WITHOUT Jason Bourne just does not sit right with me. After recent reports listed several well known actors who were said to be in the running to replace Matt Damon in this film (none of who excited me that much) a rumor has emerged today that points at Captain America himself being favourite to star in The Bourne Legacy!

Sources tell Think McFly Think Evans is being considered by Universal for The Bourne Legacy. Word is they're seeing big fat dollar signs with Captain America (that Superbowl TV spot went over like gangbusters and we should be getting the trailer soon) and writer/director Tony Gilroy likes what he's seen from Evans' past performances.

Replacing Matt Damon is proving to be a bitch, and having a hot actor coming off a hit movie would help ease audiences into this new Bourne-absent installment. That's why those rumblings of Shia LaBeouf's candidacy, even Tobey Maguire, make perfect sense and Evans' schedule will be clear after The Avengers wraps and well before any Captain America sequel.



What do you guys think about this? With The Bourne Legacy expected to be released sometime in the Summer of 2012, they'd need to start filming almost right after Evans finishes work on The Avengers - a busy schedule for the actor, but it could easily be done. well this would be amazing.either him ,hemsworth or kitsch.all perfect choices.as for scheduale-bourne ultimatum started filmiing in october 2006. and finished in march 2007.and it was released on the same day as bourne legacy will.

I don't think it would be a good fit for him. Judging from the FF movies, he seems to be more of a comical guy. Not one who shoots people in cold blood.

I don't think it's going to happen. Chris is iffy on playing Cap through 6 movies. I don't think he'll also wanna be the new Bourne too. Between Cap Sequels, avenger sequels, and Bourne sequels I think he'll want to shoot his brains out. That being said, I'd be happy if he gets picked.

If I was him I wouldn't accept it. He is a young actor who is going to get many oppertunities and I think there will be better roles out there for him. I'd love to see him do a serious drama that will push him acting wise and we can see how good of an actor he really is.

I could see this, if they make Bourne as a more unlikely action hero like many films have done in the recent years, then I dig it. Yeah Damon was good, but he is too recognizable.....Bourne should be an every man, a person who can blend into the crowd. Although I'm sure with Captain American and other roles in mind, he will be picking less action based roles and want to expand his dramatic side. From what I heard he is great in Sunshine, so lets see more of "THOSE" roles

As much as I like the guy, I can't stand seeing the same actors in so many high-profile roles within a short amount of time. Just like how Natalie Portman seems to be in every other movie these days. And how, a year or two ago, Megan Fox's name was suggested in almost every female role possible.

It seems Hollywood has not only run out of original ideas for movies(what with all these sequels, prequels, remakes, reboots, adaptations), but also starting to run out of actors too. *sigh*

i like Evans alot. with films like Sunshine and London, i have no doubt he will make a great Captain America. but to see him replace Damon as Bourne might go over as well as when Ben Affleck replaced Harrison Ford as Jack Ryan in The Sum Of All Fears. after the Avengers movie is done filming, i think sony should take a close look at Evans for the role of Nathan Drake in the Uncharted movie. think about it. looks and personality, Evans is Drake.
