Set in futuristic Metro City, "Astro Boy" is about a young robot with incredible powers created by a brilliant scientist named Tenma (Nicolas Cage). Powered by positive "blue" energy, Astro Boy (Freddie Highmore) is endowed with super strength, x-ray vision, unbelievable speed and the ability to fly.

Embarking on a journey in search of acceptance, Astro Boy encounters many other colorful characters along the way. Through his adventures, he learns the joys and emotions of being human, and gains the strength to embrace his destiny. Ultimately learning his friends and family are in danger, Astro Boy marshals his awesome super powers and returns to Metro City in a valiant effort to save everything he cares about and to understand what it takes to be a hero.

ive never read/seen a single thing related to astro boy so maybe thats why

Well Roar, you'd have to be a fan of the show way back then. I didn't have cable as a kid and by some miracle, Astroboy played every freakin morning :) It was glorious!!! And this movie is doing just as much justice to the source material as they did to TMNT!!! STELLAR BABY, YEAH!!!

Yea I agree DBZ should've probally been done CGI along with the JLA and the Avengers.I mean if for some reason they cant get it together live action the next best thing is CGI.I've always wondered why most CGI movies are never the superheores we grew up reading about.They usually get these lame-o cartoons that dont do the comic no justice.Check out the disney cartoons or video games TURNED movies its usually done CGI.Final fantasy is a good example....I'd love to see the JLA done this way.

Damn, Astro Boy.....this gets me extremely excited.

Looks amazing, the only problem I have is with his voice, but I don't mind that much. This is a true homage to Astroboy, and yes he is untouchable in Japan same as Doraemon (thank god, otherwise Fox would have casted Halley Joel Osment, don't know how to spell it, and get it directed by Ratner).

I was just thinkin', they should make a cgi animatation "The Legend of ZELDA" movie, instead of putting out some bullshit live-action flop.

imagine if they'd done this in live action, that highmore kid would have been half-naked for half the movie.. a little too weird.. a lot of the manga/anime stuff would work a lot better in, CGI a point so effectively illustrated by Dragon Ball Evolution..
