AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON Still Reveals History Between 'Ulysses Klaue' And 'Black Panther'

We know that the Black Panther and Klaw have history in the comics, but now, thanks to a HD screenshot from Age of Ultron, we know more about the characters' connection in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as well! Check it out with a minor SPOILER warning...

You would have to be eagle-eyed and a damned fast reader to pick up on this Easter egg! While the Avengers were rifling through files in Avengers: Age of Ultron, they stumble across a particular document relating to Ulysses Klaue, played by Andy Serkis. Shockingly, this file actually details a pretty major plot point for the upcoming Black Panther movie and possibly Captain America: Civil War. It looks as though, just like in the comics, Klaue will be directly responsible for the death of T'Chaka, the father of the current Black Panther, T'Challa, played by Chadwick Boseman. Just above the picture on the left (below) is a passage that details Klaue's assassination of T'Chaka. It also mentions him being a former member of the Intelligencia. In the comics, they're a group of intellectual villains with ties to the sciences. Villains such as The Leader and MODOK have been affiliated with the Intelligencia. Although it's unlikely that the group is as super villain heavy in the MCU as it is in the comics.

"Ulysses Klaue was an assassin hired to take down T'Chaka at the Bilderberg conference in the case that he refused to negotiate Wakanda's resources including Vibranium. But, Klaue was also there personally, as the Panther killed his great-grandfather in the 19th century while this one was trying to annex Wakanda. He was paid ten million dollars for the kill."

Pretty nifty, eh? When do you think we'll hear more about this assassination? Maybe it'll be brought up during Captain America: Civil War, or maybe we'll have to wait until Black Panther's own solo movie in 2018. Be sure to leave your thoughts in the comments section below!

@DrDoom His movie will probably be like Batman Begins maybe? Where they show flashbacks to T'Chaka getting killed, when T'Challa became the BP, and etc.

Even though the movie comes out 2 months after IW part 1, it'll actually take place before IW....makes me wonder about when the Captain Marvel movie will take place??

I think the real news here is that people care about Black Panther as a character

I think they had a production designer read a few wiki entries and write something up, thinking nobody would actually see it. I wouldn't take this for gospel yet.

@Omarvls
I think what it means is: Klaue went to assassinate T'Chaka personally, BECAUSE OF the fact that a former Black panther killed his great grandfather in the 19th Century.

@Omarvls They also got that from Hudlin's update of the BP origin

That reads like a summary of Reginald Hudlin's story, so I'm not sure if it's really cannon or just some filler text they put it there.

Interesting. How old is Klaue? And it doesn't really specify whether he was successful in killing T'chaka.

I really hope we get a good back story on Wakanda and the BP heritage. I'll have to watch AOU again. I dont remember this.

It still to this day blows my mind that @Jollum has nothing but snide remarks for anything Marvel but loves Amazing Spider-Man 2. I have no words

Awesome sauce!!! Exactly like the comic hudlin n jrjr did. Dialogue is a little weird in that book(have the first 6 issues) but they way they show wakanda in the beginning is amazing. His great grandpa died from a freaking robot!! That is how advance this country is. If the movie plays out like the book(which I think it will) the government gets klaw out of jail to lead a team to run up in wakanda.

Hudlin did a good job on the first arc of BP, specially since it was his first book. But I give him props for being the producer of SKEEMAN avatar.

So why does BP want Bucky in Civil War then??? Those theories of Bucky killing T'Chaka are now false.....
