Many of you who saw Avengers: Age of Ultron already- Wait! If you haven’t watched the film yet, leave this article now! If not, you will be spoiled! You were warned...

As you saw in Avengers: Age of Ultron, Quicksilver was supposedly killed saving Hawkeye, and that kid. In a recent interview with Merlot Mommy, Avengers Director Joss Whedon, explained the full process on why this scene/death was done. “We talked about it. My first meeting with Aaron and I hope that this would be something that would not see print until after the movie comes out. The first meeting I had with him, I said this is my plan is to have—we always were ready for the idea that the Disney brass would come down and say, excuse us. “Please leave the beautiful man in the franchise movie.” But it became clear certainly after we shot it, how well it worked," He then added, "So then it was just my job to spend the entire movie trying to convince everyone that Hawkeye was definitely going to die, and that turned into a really fun game.”

I’m sure many of you who watched Avengers: Age of Ultron saw how The Avengers joked about not needing Hawkeye at times, and then it was revealed that Clint Barton actually had a family! Later in the interview, Whedon talked about how this aspect of the film helped make the decision of Pietro’s death. “Every, oh, look, you know, we’re not all going to make it through this and we cut to him looking at his family, and I’m just like, “How many ways can I be, ‘Oh, he’s safe. He’s on the, oh, he has to get off the boat. Oh, he’s—’ and I just wanted to like, you know, pull the switch out.” So yeah, that was the plan, but we did sort of keep it in our, in our pockets. We’re like maybe we’ll have to do a take backsies, but then he got shot a lot of times.”

But hey, this is the Marvel Cinematic Universe! How many times have you thought somebody or something died, but eventually got resurrected. Example, Jarvis was thought to be killed in Avengers: Age of Ultron and BAM, he got resurrected. So, here’s the big question: Will Quicksilver be brought back to life? When it was brought to Whedon’s attention that we didn’t have a funeral or see a gravestone in the end, Whedon responded, “We didn’t what? Oh, that’s true.”

As of now, it could go either way. He could stay dead, or be resurrected. What do you think? Sound off below with your thoughts!

Quicksilver's kinda got the short end of the stick (from what I saw when I streamed the film week ago). But that is just how I feel about ti right now. I'm going to see the film on the big screen in a few hours, maybe my opinion will change then.

He died, Scarlet Witch screamed for a few seconds, then everything went back to normal. Then again, he was on the screen for all of 10 minutes, so he wasn't really set-up as a character anyone should care about when he died.

Also I hope him dying in AOU means he's going to stay dead. This whole "[Blank Character] is dead but not" bullshit is annoying. Either you kill the dude or you don't, none of this "we'll bring him back in a film in the future."

Ugh this film was a mess, still loved Vision and Hawkeye though

I didn't think for one moment that Hawkeye would die. It was quite obvious that Quicksilver was going to be a throwaway character.

I think he IS dead, but bringing him back later wouldn't cheapen his death. Just because a character comes back to life doesn't take away the pain people felt when he died. If Pietro comes back, Wanda would still have gone cra-cray after his death, that won't have changed.

As for the people saying he wasn't an important character in the movie, or that he wasn't really in a position to be cared about, in the theater I went in, people were shocked that he died and they were prettyb sad about it.

They really should bring him back, have Tony bring him back with the life cradle then quicksilver would be on his side in civil war. Quicksilver shouldnt have died in the first place if anything it should have been Thor since he has to die for Ragnarok. Also they kept hinting that Quicksilver would end up dying, hes the one who got shot, and even when cap says "If you die, walk it off." while quicksilver was on screen.

Also hardly any superheroes die and stay dead so stop complaining about characters being "brought back" the only person in the MCU who actually died that i can remember is coulson

The Time Stone, the cradle, Lazarus Pit, Superman rotating the Earth backwards, etc. He'll be back. By IW Part II, he'll be back. Can't wait. Easily one of the coolest parts of AoU.

@specialkail yes there is a difference between a fake death and a total resurrection, Fury faked his death so he wouldnt actually be killed, Loki was an illusion, and Pepper had regeneration, none of these characters actually DIED

They didn't care about the character from start, he got the worst costume, worst CGI running effects (TV's Flash looks way better running). Ultron's first meeting with them was wierd.[frick] I was planning to watch it again to get the tiny details but then I thought about the painfull unfunny one liners, I decided not to.

Awful decision by Marvel.
ATJ is a really talented actor who's only going to get bigger, to "kill" him off in his debut Marvel appearance isn't shocking just "meh" - sure we see the close relationship with his sister but not enough for us to feel like this death was a huge impact to the Avengers.

I'm sure he'll come back
Kinda hope this drives SW to Dr Strange - and maybe some cross dimensional travel brings him back.

Anyway this is all redundant because he's probably alive like Fury

@TheDudeRusty they did ? They used those words ? Haha well different public, different reactions. My theater was like "Owwww" lol. Well in any case they didn't expect him to die, right ? But I think if there was some affection for him, it was by proxy, due to his relationship with Wanda. I like Pietro, he was fun, but I must admit he wasn't a very "likeable" character. He was kind of a prick ^^

I was kind of upset we didn't have a scene showing Wanda actually morning her brother and coming to terms with the fact that he'll no longer be there by her side, which (maybe) might explain why she rushed right into an Avengers team there at the end, perhaps looking to fill the void. The new team led by Cap and BW would be a sort of "surrogate" family for her, as well as a place where she can actually be safe, for the first time in a long while.

It would've been a powerful scene, and would've brought some much needed character development for the burgeoning heroine, who was fantastic when she was onscreen, but who didn't have too many "downtime" moments where her own character could be explored.
She's going to be a fan favorite for many. She already has my vote as the second best new character, right after Vision.
