For those of you who may not have seen Avengers: Age of Ultron yet, read on no further, because the rest of these article contains spoilers regarding a certain scene in the film.
For those of you who saw the Avengers sequel (or for those of you who could care less about spoilers), I'm sure you saw that near the end of Avengers: Age of Ultron, Quicksilver was shot and killed saving Hawkeye from death. Some felt as though this decision was great and right for the story, while others thought that this decision was vacuous. In a new interview with EmpireAvengers: Age of Ultron Director Joss Whedon revealed that they shot an alternate ending that saw Pietro Maxioff surviving, and reuniting with his sister. “We did actually shoot him in the last scene, in an outfit, with his sister. We also shot him, waking up, saying, 'Ah, I didn’t really die from these 47 bullet wounds!'” He then continued, “Actually, we shot something else with that, but... maybe I’ll let you know about that later. But the intent was to earn this, and then you have to stand by it.”

If you are going to shoot him 47 times, kill him, leave him dead. If they wanted him alive they shouldn't have had him shot. They will be making the right choice now by leaving him dead.

It was good for that part of the story, but wished he wouldn't have done it...I enjoyed seeing QS's powers on the big screen...

That doesn't mean I agree with his death, I just think they should leave him dead.

I could still hear the theater collectively shout "ohhh shit" when he was running and gave Captain America a left cross to the Jaw....This character has/had potential

I didn't want Quicksilver to die, but now that he's dead, leave him that way. I'm tired of fake deaths

"But the intent was to earn this, and then you have to stand by it."

People are gonna use this story to say that they're bringing him back, but I think that comment pretty much seals it - he's dead for good.

I loved this quicksilver actually being killable. DOFP would have just frozen time and moved all the bullets away, don't like that cuz it's just to OP. He was a great character, and I loved his final line.

Definitely should have lived. I'm so tired of comic book movies killing off charachters just to make a bigger impact on the audience. If your movie can't survive without it Than your movie is obviously Sh*t. #quicksilvershouldhavelived #butididloveaou

I thought it worked really well. Theymade the least hero-like character a hero, saving the man with a family to return to. Wanda had her part to play holding off the Ultron bots from the detonator thing, and saving Hawkeye and that kid was Pietro's part to play. It was the right way to do it.

Honestly though, I wasn't a big fan of ATJ's Quicksilver. He was close to comics in personality, and was acted pretty well by an actor I'm not a fan of. But, for me, he couldn't compare to the Quicksilver we got in Days of Future Past. Evan Peters is simply a superior actor and brought more life to his character. I'm fine with only having him around in the CBM world.

@DrunkenNukem You can still post gifs! Just post the URL instead of all that fancy-shmancy HTML code stuff, and it should appear.

Just because he signed a 9 picture deal doesn't mean he's coming back, it just means if they WANT to bring him back then he's contractually obligated to.

What ALegendaryPanda said. IF that's true about ATJ's deal, then it just means Marvel has the OPTION to bring him back if they ever want to. That doesn't necessarily mean they WILL.

@DrunkenNukem

To be able to post pics properly now, they have to be "http://" not "https://", and they have to end in ".jpg" or ".gif". Not sure if ".png" URLs work.

True but Marvel and Disney would be stupid to kill off streams of money and that is what every Marvel or Disney character is .
