If you have not seen Avengers: Age of Ultron yet, DO NOT continue to read the rest of this article, for it contains spoilers for the film’s mid credit scene!

YOU WERE WARNED...

If you stayed to watch The Avengers: Age of Ultron mid-credit scene, you'd know that it revealed Thanos retrieving the Infinity Gauntlet and he spoke the words, "Fine, i'll do it myself." If you remember though, in Thor, the Infinity Gauntlet also was shown in Odin's Vault. We all believed that these gauntlets were one in the same, but we were wrong! In a new interview with Cinema Blend, Marvel head Kevin Feige revealed that the Infinity Gauntlet seen at the end of Avengers: Age of Ultron was not the one in Odin's vault. "There are two different gloves. That was not Odin’s vault that you see at the end."

So, now that we have two Infinity Gauntlets in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, this could set up much more conflicts for Earth's mightiest heroes, or, it could possibly be a solution to the many problems they will face! With Avengers: Infinity War part one and two set to hit theaters in 2018 and 2019, this means a lot for Marvel's future. Does this mean we'll get more Infinity stones? Could Captain America wield the other Infinity Gauntlet? All we can do now is speculate! With that said, what ideas do you have about this second gauntlet? Sound off below with your thoughts!

Perhaps it's just the glove for the other hand?
Thanos has his wardrobe down.

Someone said that the glove in Odin's room is right handed glove. Thanos has a left handed one. That makes it a lot more believable there are two.

Yeah, the other glove in Odin's vault is right handed

Can't wait to see how this plays out, I really want to see how they'll use the time gem, or if that will be used in a solo movie

I always just assumed they would just retcon the one in Odin's Vault out of existence. This is…an interesting development.

didn't the one in the vault have all the gems? how did those suddenly become lost across time and space?

When Loki didn't show up in the movie, I was convinced the post credits scene would show him handing Thanos the gauntlet from Asgard, considering he's playing Odin at the mo. Figured it'd be a clever way to incorporate Loki into the bigger picture and acknowledge his relationship with Thanos, while not having to dwell on how Thanos got the gaunlet in a future movie.

Considering Thor had the vision and he immediately went back to his home when things were solved... It would have been an excellent tie in to Thor 3 if it meant that Thanos had destroyed Thor's kingdom while he was off saving Earth. Missed opportunity.

@captainireland Me too, even the after credits was a disappointment. I can't believe Marvel couldn't think of having Loki give the glove to Thanos.

Such a missed opportunity, just like the rest of the film

Honestly, I'm almost 100% sure that the brief glimpse of the Gauntlet in Thor was just a fun little easter egg, and never meant to be taken so seriously. So Feige just came up with a half-assed explanation to retcon that a bit, just to appeal to the fanboys.

But I can't read his tone from written words, so it's just my speculation. It doesn't bother me either way.

The one in the vault had all the gems, even though the gems are scattered across space. The one in AoU is probably the true one.

Or the gauntlet in Asgard is a trick/fake to set off anyone who wants to steal it. The little hing in AoU thanos reaches in to grab the gauntlet must be a vault somewhere on a severer planet where he is stealing it.

Maybe.

Or, the one on Asgard is a decoy, as I said. Nothing more

I still suspect Loki's plan and thus Thanos as well, was always to get captured and taken back to Asgard. Now he is in control, like he always wanted, and still in league with the mad titan.

A bit of redemption coming for Loki maybe in Infinity War? He gives the other gauntlet to Thor, or maybe Captain America and they go one-on-one against Thanos in the climatic battle in Part II?

As a running theory for a while, I hope the gauntlet(now gauntlets) have gem-like figures in them already, but they are only powered by the infinity stones.
