After finally being able to see the movie here is my assessment of the culmination to one of the greatest trilogies of our time.

First of all, I would like to compliment the site and its users. I was unable to see this movie for a while and even though I generally come to this site daily, it was very easy for me to avoid any spoilers. For that I am grateful.

Secondly, I am writing this as a non-marvelite, non-Nolanite so I would like to think I am unbiased.

So without further ado, The movie was overall was great however there were a few points that bothered me.

1. So Bruce has been out of the game for a while, this has happened many times in the comics. I find it interesting that this time, a "mysterious force" (Bane), forces him to turn to the one person who's been trying to get her hands on his new technology the whole time. Nolan does a poor job of flushing out who Miranda Tate is, that she is interested in the tech to "help people". So his prints are stolen, then his stock, which then Leaves her, his only option. Sounds fishy to me.

2. Because of the above statement, Batman/Bruce basically ruins Gotham. Had he been smart enough to see the ruse none of the rest would have happened in the first place. So basically Batman was completely outwitted and outsmarted. This is my major problem with movies in general, if I can see through a ruse, I am going to not like the character as much because basically by being stupid they brought the rest of the movie on themselves. I have not felt this way for any of these movies up to this point. Which is why it was very frustrating. As other reviews and users have posted, "this then isn't Batman". I would agree, he is but a shadow of his previous self. We see that due to the depression that he sunk to after Rachael's death.

3. It is difficult for me to truly enjoy a movie in which I can determine the outcome of the movie. Once Alfred went on and on about how he had hoped he would see Bruce in a cafe in Florence, then he knew he would be alright, no words would need to be spoken etc. This was obviously a foreshadow to the end, (and yes I knew it as soon as I saw it) Which was a relief cause I knew he wouldn't die, but was bad because then there was no tension. The rest just didn't matter. that is why this movie flummoxes me. It was good, it had all the parts, and it tried to be smart, but it just didn't pass the test. There wasn't enough character development and though the plot was certainly more complex then say, "the Avengers" it wasn't strong enough for a Nolan movie.

4. I actually liked how they did Robin the nods to Tim Drake and Dick Grayson. This allowed the mantle to be passed on but it still to seem realistic without being campy.

5. Bane was done really well. A lot has been said about his mask, I understood him quite well and thought everything worked. Yes the second fight, he seemd to break the mask a little too easy but by that point the power of wills had shifted because Bane honestly believed Batman would've never gotten out of the Pit.

6. So the EMP from the "Bat" would make it so it couldn't be triggered but it wouldn't fry the digital display of the device? Doesn't really add up.

7. Catwoman was all right, not too bad, but not great, They did make it seem like she wanted a clean slate and was turning over a new leaf. Was she wholly needed, perhaps not. However, she did add a little to the story and completed the "love life" of Bruce so one can't complain to much.

So overall, it was good but certainly not as good as TDK and a bit to simple of a plot.

I'd say go easy but I really don't care ;)
