Ed Norton Denies That He'll Play The Riddler In Batman 3!

The Incredible Hulk actor has dismissed speculation that he will play the villain in the next Batman film despite showing interest in the role recently...

After recently admitting that he'd like to work with director Christopher Nolan and suggesting that the Riddler would be an ideal character for him to play, rumours have been circulating regarding his possible involvement in the third movie.

However, the actor who played Bruce Banner in Marvel Studios' The Incredible Hulk, has seemingly denied that he is attached to play The Riddler insisting studio bosses have not approached him about the villainous role.

"Don't read IMDB."

"I hear about things I'm going to be doing all the time from people and I wish my life was half as interesting as the things I hear."

What do you think about this? Are you disappointed that Norton isnt in the running for a role in the third installment of Chris Nolan's Batman movies? Which other comic book characters could he play? Be sure to share your thoughts in the usual place!

It doesn't bother me he isn't, But he is one of the few I think could pull of Nolan's Riddler (if there is a Riddler in Batman 3). Its always funny when actors clear rumors

@astroboy I dunno why you are watching The View but whatever. I think he would be a great Riddler but I would definitely love to see Hardy play Black Mask. He is a great actor.

The only good thing about IMDB is that they have quotes and cast-lists from previously release films.

So, you know how it's generally agreed that when he said that he would be interested in playing a character in Batman 3, it was way too early to start saying that he would definitely play the Riddler?

Same goes for this. He said that he has not met with the studio about the role...that doesn't mean that he's definitely not going to play it. At this point, it could go either way (although it probably won't happen).

oh my goodness; I have now read four great ideas on this page alone - I love the idea of JGL as The Riddler, although I would actually kind of prefer someone older. Johnny Depp would be magic; age doesn't matter - it's not like he looks 47. and Anthony Michael Hall would be absolutely wonderful! I can just imagine.
finally; animatedpunk; wow is that a great idea! Hoffman as Penguin would be like watching daVinci paint...

I know but I couldn't find a picture of Dick Grayson online that wasn't as Robin. You get the general idea!

I hope that Edward is not being even considered for the role -if the Riddler is certainly the main villian. Don't get me wrong. Edward is one of the finest actors of our generation, but I think he just does not have the free spirit needed for the villian of this serie.

My favorite rumor about the title of the next movie is "GOTHAM CITY"...

As for villains, I really don't care for the Riddler... But if he's going to be in it, have Hush as the secondary villain to go along with the "hush" storyline...

Throw in Black Mask as a cameo villain!

I still can only see him doing a Mr. Freeze. The way he looked in Batman The Animated Series.

Can anyone else see it?

I think Jim Parsons could make a good Riddler, he seems like he would be able to blend serious and wacky/quirky in a way that would work well in the Nolanverse.

Just say no to reverse racism.
