Rumor: Harvey Dent IS Back!!!

So says Aaron Eckhart!

This from geekachicas.com:

"Ok, the film starts shooting in April 2011 and the rumor mill will not stop running, BUT, one man may have shined some light into the whole foundation to the next Batman 3 Movie. Actor Aaron Eckhart told MTV news at Comic-con that he has been asked by Christopher Nolan to reprise his role as Harvey Dent/ Two Face. YOU CAN BET YOUR SWEET ASS, that I'm loving this news. We could see a Dark Halloween type of film as Two-Face gears up the freaks to end the mob once and for all."

Take this rumor with a whole bunch of salt. For some reason I don't see Nolan bringing back Two-Face. Could he? Yes. Will he? That's another ball of wax entirely. The most important question here is should he? I don't think so. To keep the continuity that Nolan has already established with his first two bat films, I say Two Face stays dead. Besides if Leonardo Dicaprio gets the role of The Riddler in Nolan's third Bat movie, he isn't going to share screen time with a villain that Nolan himself has said is kaput. Nuff said.

I doubt it, as much as i loved two face's portrayal in TDK, there's no erason to bring him back. And realistically speaking, the character can't survive that long with those injuries. After refusing to accept skin grafts, his face will continue to rot. It would be unrealistic for him to be alive with those injuries

Ok, why does everyone think he is dead? i mean yeah the guy fell from a high spot but who says he is dead. the guy could have survived and it is likely (after the people he killed and mayhem he caused) that they are trying to keep that a secret. he is likely sitting in arkam with only a few guards knowing he is still alive. that isn't far fetched and would be easy to put into a real life type script.

If you had your face burnt to the bone with your muscles exposed, you would die... The character has no reason to return. That aside, Two Face was awesome

I hope Batman 3 ties together the mob sub plot nicely with Two Face bring them down (IF he's alive, and does what he did in Long Halloween) after Victor Zsasz becomes boss. This is probably my most anticipated movie of all time.

Didn't Batman fall from practically the same height and live? I don't see why him living without and serious injuries is 100% cool, but Dent falling and living is completely unbelievable. Dent could easily come back if they wanted him to, they already covered up his death and pinned deaths on the Bat.

This could easily be a Flashback and Ekhart is coming back to film those scenes. But I'm cool if he comes back. I thought that aside from the end there really was no conflict between Two Face and Bats. They're big enough enemies that they should have more face to two face (lol I know that was weak).

@Creature: That subplot sounds very interesting, but the mob was SINGLEHANDEDLY DESTROYED in TDK by the JOKER. Joker burned ALL of their money. Gamble got sliced by Joker, The Russian was torn apart by his own dogs, and Maroni most likely died in the car crash. I think Batman3 should involve someone trying to rebuild the mob after their bankruptcy. And thats where Black Mask or Riddler come in.....lol

If any villian returns it should be Ra's al Ghul with Damien. ( Grant Morrison rules )

Id wait at least 5+ years before rebooting. Nolan's batman has made a huge impact. The only way im interested in seeing another batman right now would be in a JL film, but as we all know, DC is being a jerk and trying to keep him out of it
Supes17
Supes17 - 8/6/2010, 1:05 PM
@bropous: Chris Nolan's films have all gotten great reviews. TDK came out in '08, so its only been 2 years.... yeah...
And Nolan planned the 3rd film, but it all got messed up after Heath Ledger passed away. He had to come up with another story
CaptainOtter
CaptainOtter - 8/6/2010, 1:06 PM
I'm pretty sure Nolan wanted him dead, and has said so pretty blatantly. Also, it would kinda defeat the purpose of the ending to TDK. Bats took the fall for Dent, becoming hated as a result. Bring back Dent as Two Face, and the entire purpose for his sacrifice is defeated.

More realistically, I would say any appearences by Dent would be in flashbacks.
DeadPoolLax
DeadPoolLax - 8/6/2010, 1:06 PM
it would be nice. but if the joker is a villain in this movie, its almost like "batman forever" with the riddler and two face. ehh i think it would still be cool
Supes17
Supes17 - 8/6/2010, 1:08 PM
And how is he clueless? HEs not only doing CBMs lol. He also had to work on Inception, Batman 3, and the superman reboot, so hes not CLUELESS on what to do next. He does "One film at a time"
supertrackmonkey
supertrackmonkey - 8/6/2010, 1:08 PM
He could actually come back to do a flashback type of sequence.
Supes17
Supes17 - 8/6/2010, 1:10 PM
@ CaptainOtter: After thinking it over, I think that batman having his purpose defeated if Dent was alive would actually make the plot more interesting lol
Apoc4all
Apoc4all - 8/6/2010, 1:11 PM
Two-Face must return! If Batman could survive the fall, so could he! And yeah, what if we get a second Batman Forever with two-face and riddler? That just means they can DO IT RIGHT THIS TIME!
Supes17
Supes17 - 8/6/2010, 1:11 PM
@Skyh00k: I respect your opinion, and i agree tto an extent. If a reference is made to the Joker, it wouldnt be obvious, more like a small easter egg. Not an actual scene in the film:)
Supes17
Supes17 - 8/6/2010, 1:12 PM
@Apoc4all: Uhmmm, batman was wearing body armor lol. And I think that another Batman Forever is just what they are trying to avoid with the 3rd film

skullboy - 8/6/2010, 1:13 PM
Two-Face returns from the dead, yet, no Joker. Come on Nolan. You gotta get over this one day. If you can replace Katie Holmes, you can replace Heath too, rest his soul.
Anthony3
Anthony3 - 8/6/2010, 1:15 PM
Huh? You could replace Holmes with a pile of shit and no one would notice.
OdinsBeard
OdinsBeard - 8/6/2010, 1:16 PM
Brashlight@ you said it all...

except for the fact that someone else falls from that high after explaining that it won't kill. and whadaya know he doesn't die. Maroni when dropped off of the edge of the building by batman. also, batman falls from that high too, but his body armor protected him so he was able to stand up after.

bring him back - it was always going to happen. i never believed he was dead. Two face is way to important to have 1/3 of a movie.

MasterTang@ droppin knowledge as well...
