The Dark Knight Rises: Script Due In January, Shoots In May

In an interview with Empire, Sir Michael Caine has revealed when the cast are expected to get their hands on the script, and when Christopher Nolan's third Batman movie will shoot..

Even though the cast are still seemingly as in the dark as we are in regards to the many as yet unrevealed aspects to The Dark Knight Rises, one thing they(and we) now know is when the script is expected to land on their doorstep, and when they will be getting back in front of the camera to shoot what is expected to be Chris Nolan's last journey to Gotham City.

While talking to Empire, Michael Caine(Alfred) said the following..

“Emma [Thomas], the producer, said we'd get the script in January. Christopher said: 'Script in January, shoot in May, finish in November.'"

Sounds like a plan! There are dozens of rumors flying around as to who Tom hardy might be playing in the film, as well as speculation on which, if any, of the lovely ladies vying for the roles of love interest and villain will nab the part. But one thing is for sure, we won't know anything until Nolan is good and ready!..

"Christopher is the most secretive guy in the world," Caine said, "he won't tell you anything."

Well, as far as I'm concerned he has earned our trust whether we know any plot details or not. But if the script is due by January that means Chris and brother Jonathan don't have that much more time to get that final draft in order and the story must be taking shape. Expect details pretty soon I reckon.

Now Caine... that's a horse.

awesome!

So far every movie Nolan's made is a hit... I'd not give it much thought. Remember guys, the scripts supposedly been far along for a very long time now.

Every time I see the name of the movie, it has more and more meaning to it - it's an awesome original name.

I hope we get a look at the Batcave in this movie. This might be the best of the three movies. It will be tough to top TDK but in Nolan, I trust.

I call completely credible, by the way. Thing about Caine is that he doesn't seem to lie, he just gets really excited and says too much. And Nolan respects him way too much to use him to plant propaganda with.

@BruceWayneNewton I expect the vast majority of us are looking forward to the rebuilt mansion, a batcave and a batwing/boat. I mean, I'm all for just make the exposition story and character based and it won't come off lame. And Nolan is a master of this technique.

I still say we'll get a Stealth Bomber; and I don't mean Batman pops in it like a cesna and flies around Gotham all day long. Think a set piece like the Raptor in DieHard 4

I have not doubt Nolan's 3rd & last will be gr8. Will it be better that TDK, i don't knw. I knw there are few 3quels that top their previous sequels. So plz ppl, just IF TDKR isn't as good....PLEASE remember that Nolan gave us 2 gr8 movies, & lets not be so quick as to forsake him...Whatever TDKR turns out to be, it'll never be as bad as Batman & Robin or Spider-man 3

I'm not sure Nolan knows how to make a bad flick..

Even if it's not as good as TDk it's still gonna be really really good. TDK completely transcended the genre.

I am hoping this is just effing Epic.

and that Clark Kent comes to interview Bruce Wayne at the end. (will never happen, but still!)

Catwoman could work - just no flimsy vilian team ups- Nolan will stray as far away from the lore as possible if he finds it cumbersome - if he brings in Ms. Klyle she be working as a front for a hi tech theft operation with back up- i can see it working- Bats needs another female issue

hahahahahaha @ Intruder, very funny because ITS TRUE. Why does NOLAN have to be so secrective anyway? Is it really a spoiler to tell the fans who the villain/villains are or who's playing them??? I don't get his concern for holding back "details" we need to know. Its not like he's being asked to give us spoilers on the plot.

Awesome! 2012 is shaping up nicely. The Avengers, Spider-man, Superman, Wolverine and of course Batman! Even though the world is going to end in 2012 I am really looking forward to it.

@BFGloom, i appreciate where you're coming from , but mostly because i am rabidly chomping at the bit to know everything about the movie, but that's probably a little of the point. i remember Nolan saying regarding Inception "can't people just come to the theater not knowing everything and being surprised and rewarded for the experience?" i agree. when a movie i am wildly anticipating starts getting months within the release date, i torture myself with total media blackout, just so nothing is ruined for me, and i can enjoy the whole thing new and honestly.

@ NorrinRaddical, Pretty good name and yeah I know what u mean dude. But myself, I like to be spoiled before hand. I read scripts or whatever I can find before release, mostly its just my need of info...

@ ElBeaster, sorry but ALOT of us knew he'd be twoface in TDK. There were leaks when the fake production name got out, leaked pics of toys and merch, and makeup shots ATLEAST four monthes before the film opened.

TDK completely transcended the genre.

the superhero genre doesn't NEED to be transcended.

you guys want some mindblowing insights on TDKR, read my article in editorials.

@spiderneil no man, nothing ever needs to be transcended, we should all just keep doing the same thing over and over again forever. Progress or decay dude.
