It appears Warner Bros will be focusing more on DC Comics Superheroes to fill the void left by the Harry Potter Franchise.
According to
Bloomberg News "Time Warner Inc.’s film studio will rely on DC Comics superheroes like Christopher Nolan’s Batman, “Sherlock Holmes” sequels and two “Hobbit” prequels to the “The Lord of the Rings” trilogy to help fill the void. DC Comics superheroes will form the backbone of the slate. The “Potter” films, along with series such as “The Lord of the Rings” and “Matrix,” have made Warner Bros. the top- grossing studio in seven of the past 10 years. In 2009, “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince” accounted for 14 percent of Warner’s $2.11 billion in domestic ticket sales, according to Box Office Mojo, an industry website.
Plans for DC characters include a “Green Lantern” movie in June 2011. The film stars Ryan Reynolds as a test pilot with super powers. The studio is developing a new “Superman” film, more “Batman” installments and movies based on Wonder Woman, the Flash, Green Arrow and Aquaman, Horn said.
“We’re doing our best to get the DC properties lined up like airplanes taking off from the runway,” Horn said. A second “Sherlock Holmes” film with Robert Downey Jr. is scheduled for Dec. 16, 2011. A “Hangover” sequel reaches theaters May 26. "
I find it interesting that he says "more Batman installments" and not "Batman 3" and its good to see WW, GA, and Flash in development.
