After having fun  making my Fan Cast for BREAKING BAD, I started brain storming other TV Series that I would like to do a fan cast for. I thought about a bunch of different shows I watch, but when I thought of BBC's SHERLOCK, it just stuck with me. So, I proudly present: IAmNotGroot's CBM Fan Cast: BREAKING BAD...

** SPOILERS FOR SHERLOCK, FOREVER EVIL, and BATMAN: DEATH OF THE FAMILY BELOW**

4. Mark Gatiss/Mycroft Holmes -- Mr. Freeze

In Sherlock, Mycroft Holmes seems to be a very soft spoken, yet dangerous man. These characteristics also resemble Victor Fries a.k.a Mr. Freeze. Now before you start hating on this casting, just chill out (I'm snow sorry for that terrible pun.) for a second. Mark Gatiss has proven himself with his acting skills(Not his writing skills recently. Robots of Sherwood? Can we imagine that never happened?) and can carry a scene as he is very calm and monotone, yet seems to be a guy you don't want to mess with since he is very high up.

Now, Mr. Freeze is a different type of dangerous, as he isn't powerful in the Government or an organization, but he is powerful in, well...his powers. You might say, "Freezing stuff? That's not powerful!" Well, why don't you ask Johnny Quick after his encounter with Captain Cold?

Or that nice horse that Mr. Freeze came across:

I believe that Mark Gatiss could carry this character throughout a film as maybe not the film's main villain, but a side villain. But hey, it will always be better than 'ole Arnie. But overall, I believe that Mark Gatiss will make a cool (Pun!) Mr. Freeze.

CBM Role Runner Up: Galactus

3. Andrew Scott/James Moriarty -- The Joker

Though its always fun to see an actor who usually is in the role of a normal person take on the role of a crazed serial killer( Heath Ledger for example), but its also good to see someone who has experience in that kind of role take on a similar one(Jack Nicholson had already played a crazy man in The Shining before he became the Clown Prince of Crime). Even how much of a fan of Cumberbatch that I am, I think the greatest role in Sherlock is by Andrew Scott in his performance as Moriarty, the arch nemesis of Sherlock Holmes.
Andrew Scott stands out because of his wild and crazy performance where, even though you hate the guy, you can't help but smile in all of his scenes. Whether he was stealing the crown jewels or making the viewer question their own sanity when he claimed to be Richard Brook, Scott just stood out. Because of how crazy Moriarty is, I think that Scott could pull off the Joker. He also has that eerie smirk that wipes across his face.

Another good reason he should play the Joker is because he is already the arch enemy of the world's greatest detective, so why not play the arch enemy of the...world's...greatest detective? Andrew Scott is perfect for this role and I would love to see him face off against Affleck's Batman.

CBM Role Runner Up: The Riddler or Carnage

2. Martin Freeman/Dr. John Watson -- Doctor Octopus

Though I don't think that anyone will be as great of a Doctor Octopus as Alfred Molina , I believe that Martin Freeman would come pretty close. In Spider-Man 2, Doctor Octopus actually seemed very different from his comic character in that Otto Octavius wasn't that much of a nerd, and he was actually a pretty cool dude before he gained his four extra limbs. In the comics, Octavius was more of a short, chubby, nerdy, momma's boy who was mis-understood.

I can easily picture Martin Freeman being more like the comic book Dock Ock, with Martin adding some weight and getting a bowl-cut wig(He will be use to wigs after his role in the Hobbit.), and he already appears to be pretty short in all of his works(And even shorter as Bilbo, of course). Lastly, if you are thinking, "Martin Freeman can't be a villain! He's the good guy!" Watch the FX tv series FARGO, a continuation of the Coen brother's film of the same name.

Actually, I think Martin Freeman's performance as a bad guy is just as good or better than his performances as a hero. The only negative to this casting is that I would not want Martin Freeman to be Dock Ock in the current Amazing Spider-Man series, because I think he is just too good for it. I would like to see him in my "RJ Mitte as Spider-Man movie" fan cast that I release a few days earlier to this one.

CBM Role Runner Up: The Penguin

1. Benedict Cumberbatch/Sherlock Holmes -- Martian Manhunter

No matter how much you may love Cumberbatch, its hard to deny that he has a very monotone voice and pretty much always keeps a serious face, except for maybe a few times he will let out a smirk.
No matter how much you may love Martian Manhunter, its hard to deny that he has a very monotone voice and pretty much always keeps a serious face, except for maybe a few times he will let out a smirk.

Really, I can think of no one better to play a live onscreen version of Martian Manhunter than Benedict Cumberbatch. He has the voice, the face, and the same kind of humor that J'onn J'onzz has. It also helps that this fan art of Cumberbatch as Martian Manhunter looks awesome:

That picture was actually made by comicbookmovie.com user, @mbingcrosby

I am aware of the rumors that he might play Doctor Strange, which would be fine, but I think Cumberbatch would truly shine in this role.

CBM Role Runner Up: Doctor Strange or Brainiac

There you have it again folks. These are just my personal opinions of who I would like to see these actors from Sherlock play. I want to hear who YOU think they should play, so please comment with your thoughts below and please hit that THUMPS UP button, because it means a lot.

Keep an eye out for future CBM Fan Casts and other articles from me coming next week!

Also-- Can someone please tell me how to make a video show up on the article page? I go to the iframe icon at the top and put in the embedded code into the URL bar, but when I post the article, it comes up as "Bad Request", so if you can tell me in the comments what I am doing wrong, it would help a lot.

Thanks for reading.

Cumberbatch would kill as Martian Manhunter! It's tough for him because he would kill as alot of comic book characters.

While Cumberbatch can play an exquisite Martian Manhunter

I'm going to say no on the other choices....except for Gatiss , he'd be a killer Mr. Freeze.
