FANCAST: The Amazing Spider-Man

"With great power comes a great beatdown!"

Directed by Edgar Wright (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, and Scott Pilgrim vs. the World)
Based on stories by various Marvel Comics writers

Shiloh Fernandez is Peter Parker / Spider-Man

Shiloh is a charismatic young actor, who could play the cocky, wise-cracking Spidey very well, and I can practically hear his voice blurting out some of Spidey's most infamous one-liners. Plus, He has the right build and height. I'd like most of Spidey's stunts to be done by Levi Meeuwenberg.

Candice Accola is Gwen Stacy

She just screams Gwen to me. I can't explain it, but if you've seen her act, or in an interview, you may know what I mean. She's cute, and bubbly, and is also a fine actress.

Chace Crawford is Harry Osborn

He does a good job at playing the "Golden Boy" on Gossip Girl, and really put his acting chops on display in Twelve. Harry wouldn't become Green Goblin in the series.

Deborah Ann Woll is Mary Jane Watson

Deborah is a great actress, and is absolutely gorgeous, a big contrast to Kirsten Dunst, the MJ of Raimi's Trilogy.

Rutger Hauer is Uncle Ben

I've been wanting to include him in one of my casts for some time. He's a great actor from way back. He could own this role, no doubt.

Blythe Danner is Aunt May

In my opinion, Aunt May is best when portrayed as a little cooky, and for that, Danner fits the bill extremely well.

Mark Harmon is Captain George Stacy

Harmon often plays men of the law, and always does it well. I actually didn't realize just how much he looked the part until I put the pic together. It's nuts. Here Stacy would work as Spidey's Gordon, like in The Spectacular Spider-Man animated series.

Alex Pettyfer is Flash Thompson

He's a decent actor, who I think he could do the role justice in all aspects. I can see him as the bully/jock Flash, and as the Flash who loses his legs in the war, and becomes Agent Venom.

John C. McGinley is J Jonah Jameson

McGinley's character Dr. Cox on Scrubs was brash, demanding, and an absolute blast to watch tear his co-workers new ones often. J.K. Simmons is near impossible to replace. I think McGinley could play the role similiarly, but slightly less over the top.

Autumn Reeser is Betty Brant

This was a no-brainer. Reeser would kick this role's ass, like she did with Katie on the short lived No Ordinary Family.

Jason Isaacs is Norman Osborn / The Green Goblin

Issacs is great at playing sinister characters, and it doesn't get much more sinister than megalomaniacal industrialist Norman Osborn, except for maybe his counterpart, The Green Goblin.

Jensen Ackles is Eddie Brock / Venom

This was a rather tough role to cast. I wanted someone who not only looks the part, but also whose voice I could imagine distortedly coming out of Venom. I chose Ackles. He meets those specifications, and more.

Ethan Hawke is Dr. Curt Connors / The Lizard

Another no-brainer. Hawke's an intense actor, who could bring that into play as the man obsessed with getting his hand back.

Tony Todd is Mysterio

Todd is an unnerving, creepy actor. Specifically in the Candyman and Final Destination films. I think it'd be cool if Mysterio was purposely portrayed as kind of a cheesy horror movie villain. His identity would never be revealed.

Mads Mikkelsen is Doctor Octopus

Mikkelsen could keep the character from coming off as too campy. He has that glare down pat, and could play the role very dark, and callous.

Elisha Cuthbert is Black Cat

Yep, Jack Bauer's little girl. She's crazy hot, and can play the role of the playful seductress very well, as shown in The Girl Next Door.

Scott Adkins is Kraven The Hunter

Adkins is a great martial artist, and is not too shabby as far as acting goes either. With some fine-tuning he could do a pretty solid accent as well.

Christopher Heyerdahl is The Vulture

You may know him from Supernatural, Smallville, or even Twilight. He has quite a bit of experience as creepy, but intelligent villains, so this role isn't much of a stretch at all.

Zack Ward is Cletus Kasady / Carnage

I've seen this guy play nothing but small roles, but he did stand out to me in Freddy vs. Jason, despite having a very minor role. He was rather scary when "possessed" by Freddy Krueger.

Adam Baldwin is Flint Marko / Sandman

Baldwin was good on Firefly, and certainly looks the part. I liked Thomas Haden Church's portrayal, and would like to see Baldwin do something like that.

Matt Willig is Aleksei Sytsevich / Rhino

Rhino is a brute villain, and not a lot of acting skills are required to play him, but Willig is a solid actor and is massive, standing at 6 foot 8, and weighing over 300lbs.

Best fancast for Spider-man I've seen on this site.
I wouldn't change a thing.
I especially like like your choice for JJJ.

he best overall spiedy cast i have ever seen. I don't hate any of the picks but I'm just a little iffy about Gwen Stacy And Venom. But Hawke, Mikkelsen, and Heyerdahl are the best ones. The only one I don't like is your choice for Hydro Man. Wait, no Hydro Man, then I like them all.

- Shiloh might be good for an adult Spider-Man, since he's 26 years old.
- Wondered when Accola would make her debut on a fancast. She could work as Gwen Stacy.
- Twelve was a shitty movie, bud, hate to break it to you. But Chace would make an interesting Harry Osborn. Maybe in the adult years.
- Like Shiloh and Chace, Deb is more suited for an adult MJ. Is this what you're aiming for, Spider-Man set in his adult years?
- Nice picks for Peter's aunt and uncle.
- Ditto with you on Captain Stacy.
- Not the most original JJJ, but hey, John C. McGinley would OWN this role.
- I'd like to see Reeser take on the role of Janet van Dyne. Especially after she played a doctor on No Ordinary Family. The Wasp bangs are also fitting.
- Can't argue with you on Jason Isaacs as Norman. And like someone told me on SHH, apparently he can do an American accent as seen in Avatar: The Last Airbender. I approve. But I love Gary Sinise on my end.
- Iffy on Jensen Ackles as Venom. I think he's the ideal Deadpool, after reading HailToTheKingBaby's Daredevil fancast (I seen you studied it with Tony Todd in there as Mysterio). Nevertheless, he's got the build for Venom.
- Gotta love Mads. He'd be perfect for a live-action version of the 90's take on Doc Ock, who spoke German-ish.
- How can I put it gently. Elisha may have the rockin' tits, but I don't know, she seems too nice (I've been spoiled by her performance in 24). Maybe it was The Girl Next Door, but it doesn't seem like it could work. Now she'd be great as adult Gwen Stacy. Meanwhile, Jaime King would be excellent as Black Cat, who's 5'9", knows martial arts from Bulletproof Monk, and can be sexy, dangerous, and conflicted (Sin City). Here's a shot.

- Hopefully you know this, but in case you don't, Scott Adkins actually played someone named Yuri Boyka in Undisputed III. So at least we know he can play Russians. So I'll give you a pass on this one.
- I wouldn't mind Heyerdahl as Vulture. I don't know how old he is, but judging by your description, you found a pretty decent actor.
- My choice for Carnage would be Will Arnett. Carnage is a darkly comic psychopath in my eyes, kind of like the 90's animated version. And Will has that creepy voice and demeanor when playing villains (Blades of Glory) or douchebags in trouble (Let's Go to Prison).
- I guess Adam could work for Sandman. I kinda like John Cena in the role, because he has the build, and he can be good if he has the right script. Even if he's supposedly a shit actor, Sandman is a thug, so I don't think we need the best actor.
- I could probably borrow Matt Willig for Rhino, because I'm about to choose Kevin Durand. It's a good choice, and he did the voice for Juggernaut in Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions.

All in all, a great cast.

this is a great cast, I dont know what RoadDog is talking about, i dont think i have seen Hohn McGinley as JJJ on here, but he is right about him owning that role. He would rock it. I dont know who Debora Ann Woll is, but she definatly has the great look for MJ. Tony Todd's Voice for Mysterio would be awesome. The only one I am not a fan of is Rudger Hauer for Uncle Ben. He is just to creepy for me to love him and feel sorry for him when he is killed or that I should care for him when he delivers the big line. I would see him with peter and feel like there is something off, maybe he is touching peter inappropriately when no one is around.

If Hollywood were smart, they'd have this cast for The Amazing Spider-Man.I especially love the cast pick of John C. McGinley and Mark Harmon.

Pretty good fancast. One thing though, I think it would be better if Tony Todd was just the voice for Mysterio since he did such a great job as The Fallen.

theres 2 things i dont like about the fancast. 1) Adkins, if only because im not familiar with his acting ability. and 2) its ended. this is the best Spider-cast ive seen. 2 thumbs up

Harmon, McGinley, and Ackles are all my favorite choices here, but the whole entire cast is amazing! Perfect stuff, man!

@RoadDogg awesome analysis and all, but Garfield is 28, so he's older then Fernandez so it's not really a problem.

Thanks for the positive feedback, Fellas. Much appreciated.

@headlopper, MaddMonkk, ellispart3, & ager: Best Spidey cast you guys have seen? Awesome, I'll take that! Glad you like it.

@RoadDogXXIV: Thanks for the in-depth review. I always look forward to your comments. Will Arnett as Carnage? That's so crazy it just might work.

@KonEl12: Haha! Same here, dude.

I LOVE it, as all people do too, lol. Probably not really feeling Mads Mikkelsen and Adam Baldwin (since they're my picks for Doctor Doom and The Thing for a possible Fantastic Four reboot), and Hauer has had a role in Batman Begins (not a big deal, though), but the rest are sick. Isaacs may be a bit too common for Osborn, but whatever. The ones I love most are your Vulture, Kraven, Rhino, Lizard, Spidey (never heard of him but he looks really good), and Captain Stacey - Mark Harmon never looked that perfect for a role. Overall, a VERY great cast. :)

@Jolt17: It's cool, They fit those roles as well.

@axelbratoski: And you one of mine. Yeah, Levi would own it.

@0TheQuestion0: Cheers, bud. I try.

AWESOME cast, the only one I'm kinda iffy on is Spidey, I still love Andrew Garfield in the role.
But still a great cast, really like your Venom pick, & I havn't seen your Carnage pick in anything sense a Christmas story, but I'm sure he could pull it off.
