I’ve seen a lot of Fantastic 4 fancasts and most of them are near perfect (Bill Crudup, Mark Strong, Jeffrey Dean Morgan) so I didn’t think it was necessary for me do a Fantastic Four Reboot Fancast. So instead I decided to do an Ultimate Fantastic Four Fancast. These are based on the first 2 volumes of the series. I tried to cast the actors to be a lot younger but I couldn’t get actors that were as young as they were in the comics.
Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic: Jay Baruchel (The Sorcerer's Apprentice)
The Ultimate Reed is really nerdy and what actor is nerdier than Jay Baruchel. He looks like Ultimate Reed too.
Sue Storm/Invisible Woman: Alison Lohman (Drag Me to Hell)
She’s very talented and she has the cute look that I was looking for (and she looks great blonde).
Ben Grimm/The Thing: Eli Roth (Inglourious Basterds)
Yeah: “The Bear Jew”! Roth was the youngest actor I could find that could play the role (and still too old). I’m welcome to any suggestions for a younger actor. Oh and with CGI motion capture of course.
Johnny Storm/Human Torch: Dave Franco (Scrubs)
Franco would perfectly capture how much of a douche the Ultimate Johnny is. And yes: he is James Franco’s little brother.
Franklin Storm: Tom Hanks (Forest Gump)
I’ve been looking for a role to cast Hanks in and this seemed like the best choice ( I also want to know what he looks like blonde).
Victor van Damme/Dr. Doom: Zachary Quinto (Star Trek, Heroes)
He’s great at playing villains, he looks like Ultimate Doom (before transformation), and he’s the right age to fit in with the cast.
Arthur Molekevic/Mole Man: Danny Devito (Batman Returns)
Who Else? LOL
