Okay just to clear things up bit I DID watch the movie. I don't want any of you CBMers screaming out "THIS IS FAKE!!!", "FAAAAAAAAAAAAKE!!!!" etc. etc. I live in the Philippines so we get an earlier release of the movie.

Now let's cut to the chase: The movie pretty bad. Yup, you read it right it was just BAD (I hate saying this but the critics were right). The movie just didn't live up to its expectations. So i'll try to make this as simple as possible.

Positive Things:

The movie was entertaining and it was pretty funny. The effects were dazzling. The designs were pretty awesome (you get to see so many different aliens in Oa). I also loved the way they designed Oa and its infrastructures. The acting was okay.

Negative Things:

Okay now let's get to bad side of the movie. The story was just crappy. There was hardly any development with the characters. There was no chemistry with the characters. Planet Oa didn't have enough screen time. None of the alien Green Lanterns had enough screen time. The drama parts just wasn't dramatic enough. There was hardly any fight scenes. There was no action. etc. etc.

I'm sorry to say this but the movie just wasn't that great. Thor and X-men: First Class was way better.

What the [frick] is up with WB how many people they did show early screenings too and more importantly how many on this site have seen the screenings. We've already had GL fan boy declare his biased love of the movie now we have you saying how bad it is which means a lot DC fanboys are going come on here and declare you a biased Marvel fan boy who has no taste. I haven't got much to say about the review or any reviews whether there positive or negative(but boy are some of negative reviews fun to read)because the only review I trust is my own.

Kinda curious as to how this early screening shit works do they just randomly invite to it or what.

Am I the only one who always felt like for a Green Lantern movie to be taken seriously it need to be in the realm of "The Matrix". Many similarities in the Characters of Hal Jordan and Neo. I could have also saw Oa being something like Zion. I feel Hal Jordan and Neo share a basic/universal story....a man who is chosen because of a greatness that is seen inside of him.

The tone should have been the same also...."Matrix" to this day seem to be the only CREDIBLE off the wall sci-fi movie. I think people where drawn to the sense of urgency the story had. I wish people would take the characters more seriously...as hero's the sacrifices their lives for [frick] sake! Can we at least sacrifice some effort for a thought provoking story.

Unfortunately I'm hearing similar reports, a buddy of mine saw GL and was bummed about how high the cheese factor is in the movie, what they got right was right, but that what they got wrong was really REALLY wrong.

he said that every time blake l was on the screen he got the this movie sucks feeling, that though RR was decent, he was just too goofy funny guy.

Best comment was, they needed a drama guy that can do a bit of comedy, and with RR in the role they got a comedy guy that can't pull off the drama.

I'm feeling the initial reactions to the first trailer, that it was cheesy, was spot on.

I think the haters and critics are looking into it too much, yes we want this movie to be geekgasmic but shit, they made it, if you would of asked any of us that they would make a GL movie even two years ago we would have asked where they got there crack from!

think we should all be glad its made and all the trailers look so good that i cant see how it can be as painful as the critics are making out?

I for one am seeing it tommorrow i have booked my tickets and am very VERY excited!
