CAPTAIN MARVEL Star Mckenna Grace Shares Her Excitement About Starring In GHOSTBUSTERS - EXCLUSIVE

Earlier this year, we learned that Mckenna Grace (The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina) had landed a lead role in the Ghostbusters reboot/sequel, & she briefly comments on that for the first time ever here.

With Captain Marvel now available on DVD and Blu-ray, I recently had the opportunity to talk to stars Mckenna Grace (Carol Danvers) and Akira Akbar (Monica Rambeau) about their experiences working on the Marvel Studios movie. We'll bring you that interview in full tomorrow, but during my chat with the talented actresses, I asked Mckenna about her role in the Ghostbusters reboot.

It was back in March when we learned she had landed a lead role in the Jason Reitman helmed reboot/sequel which will put the focus on a brand new cast of characters in the same world as the original team. McKenna (whose acting credits include everything from The Gifted to The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina) is one of the leads, and I had to try to get some information out of her!

"[Laughs] No, don't even try that with me, mister! I cannot!" she responded, smartly avoiding giving anything away. When I asked if she could talk about how it feels to join the franchise, Mckenna added: "Oh yeah, I'm so excited about it because I'm a huge fan of the Ghostbusters so that's going to be super exciting. I cannot share anything about it with you my friend, I'm really sorry! [Laughs]"

This is the first time she's talked about joining Ghostbusters, and we'll hopefully find out a lot more about the movie soon. We've seen a brief teaser already, and with a July 10th, 2020 release date set, some proper footage finding its way online by the end of the year seems highly likely. After hardcore fans rejected Paul Feig's female cast, it will be interesting to see what they make of a younger group.

Check back here tomorrow for our full interview with the Captain Marvel stars.

@WackyBantha - I doubt it since he quit acting a long time ago. But, then again, they're making a Bill and Ted 3 with the same cast. So who knows. Anything can happen.

"I cannot" "I cannot"
So proper. No contractions for her! :D
I kind of like that a personality like this will be in the Ghostbusters movie. She seems like the perfect fit maybe.

I didn't reject his all female cast. I rejected his bad out of continuity movie.

I know Ghostbuster 2016 was bad, but you know what? So was Ghostbusters II. I really don't understand why people make such a big deal about this franchise.

Loved the first two Ghosbusters growing up and cannot wait for this new one.
I didn't know people disliked the second until I was an adult and read it on the internet.

Excited to see Carrie Coon in this. Jason Reitman's hit or miss, but I liked Juno a lot.

I stand by the fact that one of the creepier moments was in Ghostbusters II when they’re in the subway listening to their echos and then Winston tries and that spooky voice just repeats his name back to him. Followed up by them seeing all heads on the pikes. Still kinda gives me goosebumps.
